5.0 out of 5 stars A unique musical sound, March 12, 2008
Ocassionally, I actually enjoy some of my daughter's music and Arash is no exception. I must admit that I have only heard one track from this particular album, however, I certainly enjoyed his other album entitled 'Temptation' (this is available on the sister site Amazon.uk).
I am told that Arash is of Iranian extraction but his family emigrated to Sweden. Perhaps his ethnic roots may not be prefered in America in view of the current political tension. This may account for the fact that he is so underrated this side of the Atlantic, even though his contribution to the pop music scene there would be something special and unprecedented. His sound is a unique blend of pop and Eastern styles (I avoid the word 'Bollywood' due to its ambivalent and sometimes pejorative connotations). Even though he sings mostly in his own native Farsi tongue, the female vocals featured in the duets with Arash are invariably in English. The best example is the breathtakingly beautiful Rebecca (Zagid) with whom he performed the amazing duet 'Temptation'. Rebecca's own style complements Arash perfectly. Not only does she dance and move gracefully, but she has a natural feel for this rhythmic and melodic sound. For a video clip of 'Temptation' and other fantastic performances by them such as 'Mitarsam' visit the Youtube site.

4.0 out of 5 stars excellent bellydancing music!!, May 25, 2009
I was searching for some 'pop' music to belly dance to and found 'Burre Burre' mentioned on a bellydancing site. Took some doing, but I found Arash's Boro Boro as an mp3 download from Amazon. I enjoyed the track so much I downloaded 'Yalla,' which was also mentioned as a great bellydancing track on that same site. Finally, I went back to Amazon and got the entire album.

I love almost every track!! While I have to disagree with another reviewer...I think the Swedish singer, Rebecca, on the tracks 'Temptation' and 'Bombay Dreams' nearly ruin the tunes...she sounds like she's sucking in helium or maybe she's channeling a chipmunk. Unfortunately he's recorded other songs with her too <sigh>. If you can tune her out though...*he* sounds great.

Arash recently placed third in the Eurovision song contest with AySel, representing Azerbaijan, the song they sang (in English) is "Always"...sadly NOT available on Amazon...yet anyway.

I recently ordered a copy of his newer CD...seems a little hard to come by...Donya. The title track he recorded with Shaggy. I've listened to it and Dasa Bala, both sound great so I have high expectations that I'll enjoy Donya as much as I do Arash. The other track I've heard is 'Suddenly,' recorded with Rebecca...whose voice I *still* don't like.
