Concept: Charlie Sexton in dream date with a second killer guitarist/vocalist (Doyle Bramhall II), Stevie Ray Vaughan's rhythm section and producer Little Steven. Result: A can't-fail combo that swings like vintage Stones/Bad Company. --Jeff Bateman

I borrowed this CD from a friend after we saw Doyle Bramhall II playing with Clapton's 2006/2007 tour. For me, it was one of those great music finds - an album and artists I knew nothing about and just blew me away. Great songwriting, no weak spots and excellent high energy, blues-rock jamming. Road trip tunes.

I completely agree with every review on this page. The only thing I can add is that I saw the band at The Paradise in Boston in December 1992, and no other rock show I have ever seen compares. That statement includes the big names like Aerosmith, Van Halen, U2, Rush, Rolling Stones, and as well the lesser known names like Ian Moore, Buddy Guy, and the Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies. The Arc Angels' was the only show I left absolutely speechless, due to the awe-inspiring and powerful performance from beginning to end. I hope that Sexton, Bramhall, Shannon and Layton read this stuff so they can know how their fans feel; Guys, if your reading, GET THE BAND BACK TOGETHER!! WE NEED ANOTHER ALBUM AND ANOTHER TOUR!!

I recently saw a concert on Austin City Limits that featured Doyle Bramhall II. His guitar playing and vocals were awesome. All I could say was "who is this guy and why havent I heard of him?" Needless to say, I checked the web and found that he was a member of the Arc Angels. So I tracked down this album and it is great Texas rock. Stevie Ray would be very proud with his rhythm section hooking up with these 2 great guitar slingers (Charlie Sexton is the other). I will highly recommend this album to my friends. My 2 favorite cuts are "Living In A Dream" and "Sent by Angels".

The saddest thing about the existence of this band is that they don't anymore. Still in all, it was great just to get at least one superb effort out of them. Released in 1992, it was nice to hear such a likeable CD from Chris Layton and Tommy Shannon after the death of Stevie Ray Vaughan. Double Trouble has proven over and over again what an explosive rhythm section they are.

The band, fronted by guitarists/singers Doyle Bramhall II and Charlie Sexton, present a powerful display of blistering dual lead guitar.

For those heavy into different styles of southern rock with a blues tinge, this one's a must.

This is a CD for rock lovers with heart & soul.....already a classic. It is in my CD player all the time; I listen over & over & over. As with other "supergroups" that only resulted in one release before disbanding, it is without compare. Amazing musical talent coupled with sincere, soulful yet rocking vocals by Doyle II and Charlie , plus the unmatched rhythm section of Chris & Tommy. No money better spent on music than this!

One of the truly great albums of the 1990's. Released during the heyday of grunge, all of those knuckleheads that moved to Seattle should have been paying attention to this instead, because this record blows most of the competition away.
I saw Arc Angels play in Charleston back in 1992, and can only add on to the folklore that continues to surround this band. That concert was one of the best experiences I have EVER had at a live show; these guys were the total package.

When I first bought this album (in Newcastle many years ago), although Charlie Sexton had had some minor chart success in UK, I'd never heard of Doyle Brumhall II and knew nothing of the legacy behind these amazing musicians. SRV had been recently lost to the world and we were all lamenting his passing so the news that some of his friends/ bandmembers had gotten together to put an album out in his honour was a must buy. I bought it with no preconceived notions. And what I got was one of the most incredible blues rock bands playing some of the most joyous, majestic rock'n'roll I'd ever heard or heard since. The chemistry and sheer class that drips from the speakers every time I play this album just keeps me coming back for more and Doyle's gospel tinged vocals and incredible guitar playing is unique and gifted. Regardless of the tragic circumstances that brought them together for this album, this is a truly great band that stands up along side the legends in its own right. It's a great shame that they've not made more records since (although Charlie & Doyle have made some brilliant solo albums) but then I guess, that's what makes this album all the more special. If you believe it's all about the songs, buy this album. Every single track is audio liquid gold...from rootsy (Living In A Dream) to funky (Good Time) to summer drivin' (Sent By Angels). This album has it all in melodic abundance....and See What Tomorrow Brings has to be the most impassioned, tear filled farewell to a lost friend (SRV) ever played or sung....a stone cold classic.

One of the most original Texas rock and blues albums to come along in the past decade. All of the artists are extremely talented and have deep roots in Texas blues. Specifically, Austin blues and that clearly resonates in the music. They do not sound like Stevie, Ian Moore, or any of the other Texas blues slingers. They have formulated an original sound through their vocal and song writing diversity. When they broke up in '94, I was very disappointed that only one album would mark their existence. It is truly a great album and as of May 23, 1999 they are having a reunion concert in Houston, TX (I will assume they have had or will have similar dates in Austin and Dallas). I truly hope this translates into another album as all artists are currently unattached to another group. If you don't have this album, buy it, you will not be disappointed.
