Have used this welder for several years to repair vandalized cave gates built of 4" angle iron and it works like a champ. Powered by a 40 pound Yamaha 2800i generator, the system can be hauled into remote mountain locations by a small crew and gets the job done with no spiking or lack of power. Every welder that has used it has bought one for thier own use afterward.

Was a little skeptical on receipt of unit. Seemed ridiculously light and flimsy. Sparked it up today to plate over with 1/8 mild steel. Amazing ! Burned 1/8 7018H rods like butter @ 100amps. Have no idea how it will hold up, but so far satisfied. Easy of transport and use a big 10+

Works well out of the box - just plug and go. welded 1/4" steel plate to trailer rail angle iron easily with 3/32" 6013, but had a tendency to trip my 20 amp circuit when putting out as little as 70 amps. Worked fine on the 20 amp circuit of a 8500 watt generator.
