Version 6 a let down from version 5.5,
This review is from: ArcSoft PhotoStudio 6 (CD-ROM)
After using photo studio 5.5 for a couple of years I had to update to Photo Studio 6 after Installing Windows 7. (Win 7 is a must for those using digital photo or camcorder work.) 6.0 is the worst upgrade of any software I have used. It is in cropping that it fails. I crop my 4x3 into 16x9 10x8 and several other precise images. If you don't crop your images then you'll be ok with 6.0.
Pro: It now displays preview items larger if you're less than full scan. Big Deal! There are improvements in rotating images and several other minor improvements. Con: 5.5 right click had these needed commands: cut, copy, actual view, fit in window, zoom in, and zoom out (but needed crop). 6.0 right click has these needed commands: crop and zoom to (which is in percentage and not as useful, will not display fit in window.DUMB. 5.5 when you select image using left click, size of image is shown in position box. 6.0 position box removed which makes it harder to crop images. WHY? DUMB! For my use, this was a disaster! 5.5 is 5 stars and 6.0 is 2 stars. If you do not have Windows 7, then you will find 5.5 is a great basic program and at $17.95 on Amazon lots of bang for the buck. Windows 7 users will pay $ 74.99. Go elsewhere.

Not worth the money,

I was used to using Picture Publisher 8. I upgraded my operating system to Windows 7. Picture Publisher 8 will not work with it. I got PhotoStudio 5.5 with my Canon 8800F so I thought I would buy version 6 for the new operating system.
For me at least it was a mistake. It is very difficult to use with no manual. There is a manual for version 5.5 but not version 6. I checked the Help tab for a tutorial but there is none. I went to the web site and looked at the forums. There are all kinds of complaints about how difficult it is to use. I just hate to think about buying something else but it looks like I will have to. I wish I would have saved my $79.00. Maybe it's just me but I don't think so.

I had the old Photo Studio 4 and I liked it but it wouldn't work on Windows 7, therefore I purchased the 6 has a lot more on it than the 4

Like a few others on here I was using photostudio 5.5 until my laptop crashed and had to buy a new one. Unfortunately my new laptop had windows 7..which does not support 5.5. So I bought Photostudio 6 thinking how different can they be? Boy was I disappointed!! This software is not user friendly at all...I cannot do any of the things I did with 5.5....I DO NOT recommend this product to anyone...it is a waste of good money.

I have PhotoStudio 2000 and love it. I bought this to put on a Mac since I couldn't find my disk. So far it works fine. It is set up different but still functions the same (of course). Red eye removal is a little more challenging. Overall a good product for manipulating photos.
