Customer Reviews

The build quality is good and it's stable as a rock.

Attachment screw will not go through machined slot precluding the ability to attch the plate to your camera.

There is no difference between this one and the more expensive brand names.

I have a very nice Gitzo tripod with a RRS ballhead that I use for my DSLR. I wanted to be able to use this same combination with a new spotting scope so I gave this cheap plate a try. For an affordable arca-swiss plate it doesn't get much better than this. Yes it does have a few flaws but that is typical of most universal products. The screw is too much off center and I'm not a fan of a rubberized base material. My spotting scope already has a rubber base so rubber on rubber didn't offer the solid connection that I'm used to. My solution? Remove the rubber material from this plate.

I grabbed this for travel because I ripped the grip off my 7D just to cut down on some weight. The grip has an RRS AS plate & I didn't want to pay the price for one for a non-gripped body. My tripod has an AS clamp so had to get something compatible.

I figured I would grab something cheapish as a stop-gap and was really surprised at the quality. This is great and works no problem at all with my arca-swiss ballhead. The build quality is good and it's stable as a rock.

If I had to pick something - the edges are a little sharp compared to the nice finish on the RRS stuff but at a fraction the price, it's a small issue. If you comparing this to similar, just click the buy on this one.

I bought this for my Really Right Stuff tripod head. I didn't want to spend the big bucks on another custom L bracket. This plate works fine and is permanently attached to my other camera.

Yes it fits but it doesn't provide the same tightness (when mounted) as the PU-60 plate that comes with the Benro head. Not sure why the screw is so off center and can only be adjusted horizontal and not vertically. Perhaps it is a better fit for smaller/lighter cameras and lenses?

Exceeded my expectations for a very cheap arca-swiss style universal plate. Well finished and solid with stiff, grippy rubber facing.

I bought this baseplate after losing track of an older one I had purchased (it was $40 and pretty terrible).

It was the cheapest one I could find available in an arca type mount, but is pretty well made. The mounting screw wasn't of very good quality, but that is hardly the most important part.

For supporting the weight of an entry level dslr with a midsize zoom, this baseplate is pretty solid, but I doubt it would be adequate for too much more.

I give it four stars because it is substantially cheaper than most baseplates out there, but is not too cheaply made for it to be useful.

EDIT: bumped it down to 2 stars because this baseplate refuses to stay tight for more than a few minutes of use. it's almost useless

Excellent, it is good looking, working well plate... What else can I say? It works as it is supposed to and costs a third of the the corresponding Wimberley plate for the very same function...
