5.0 out of 5 stars Sonic, Ecco, and the Ooze are very enjoyable by Jordan, July 13, 2005
A Kid's Review
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Arcade Legends Sega Genesis 2 (Video Game)
Sonic 2: After much loving the first Sonic game I thought this one was better and more challenging. I have beaten this game and it was so much fun. You run around as the same blue furry dude and a very helpful sidekick named Tails. This was more clever and graghic-wise better. I love the slot machine idea in casino night zone. The special stages are in 3-d whoopie. I was able to become super sonic which was cool. You can look up the select level cheat on the internet(simply google sonic 2 select level cheat.)

Ecco the Dolphin: This game is a very good role playing game and it has some levels like mazes. This is fun and has realistic undersea graphics. Look up passwords on google.

The Ooze: Very fun as you fight your way level by level as a green blob punching and spitting toxic breath on dudes trying to kill you.

Columns: I hve a feeling that this game has major anoyance. People say this game is similat to the mean bean machine game. It's not close. It's much worse, no opponents, and only groups of three and it's not very fun.

These last two games weren't very fun.

Gain ground: I had predicted this game would be a very fun old time fighting game, but it turns out to be my least favorite. It's got no point and every levelis the same. fight all the guys and win. It's hard to unlock new characters to select from.

Alex kidd in the enchanted castle: This game is all right now that I think about it, but 50% of the game relies on chance of the game rock paper scissors. Also the story plot is stupid. Some levels are to hard.

Anyway I give this a 5 for the three games that are excellent and worth it.

I don't reccomend bying this product if you have a gamesystem unless the reason is that it's very portable. Anyway this sega remake is very fun.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very poor sound on the main game, Sonic 2., July 1, 2005
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Arcade Legends Sega Genesis 2 (Video Game)
The games are fun to play, and visually, everything works perfectly as far as I can tell, but the sound is poor and sometimes unnacceptable. Genesis and it's games were in stereo sound, and the games were cheaply changed to mono (why would they do that?) creating ill-effects. Some games are acceptable, but the main game, Sonic 2, is the worst one. The music of some levels is very staticy and unpleasant to listen to; some sound effects are high picthed and overly loud (getting rings- DING!!! DING!!! DING!!!); and some sound effects, such as jumping, are entirely inaudible. I own the Genesis, and there's no reason why they couldn't have made the sound just as high qualty in this. $35 is a lot of money, folks. Don't buy this unless you want to play Sonic with the sound turned off.

5.0 out of 5 stars A game worth every penny!, May 6, 2005

This review is from: Arcade Legends Sega Genesis 2 (Video Game)
I absolutely love this plug n' play game. In fact, I saved up all my money to buy this. Here are the games:

Sonic 2: You can play as Sonic or Tails, and try bravely to stop Eggman from getting his hands on the emeralds. To get the emeralds, pass a star post with at least 50 rings. The game will tell you how many rings you need to get. If you do just what the game says, you will get an emerald. Collect them all to turn into Super Sonic.

Alex Kidd: This is, by far, one of the games I most often play, especially with the fun "rock, paper, scissors" game you can play with a gorilla, bear, wizard, or queen. You can win fun prizes that will help you throughout the game, including a motorized scooter.

Ecco the Dolphin: This is my sister's favorite game because she loves sea life. Ecco is on a quest to win his pod (family of dolphins) back. You can interact with other sea animals, and even talking crystals.

The Ooze: This is my little brother's favorite. He has gone through a lot of disgusting things, but this video game about a labratory incident tops it!

Columns: This is almost like an Egyptian version of Dr. Eggman's mean bean machine, but you use crystals instead of beans. It's fun to see those crystals magically dissapear.

Gain Ground: This is a quest game from the middle ages. Battle the enemies and claim the ground as your own!

Overall, This is a MUST HAVE for a plug n' play gamist. I have the Namco 80's, Sega, and Sega 2 plug n' play games. I'm looking forward to the Disney one, which I think has the Sega Genesis version of Aladdin as one of its games.
