Product Description

It seemed like any other day at the local amusement park. Smiles, the laughter of children, parents taking their children on rides… nothing out of the ordinary. However, a secret agent has crept his way into the Central Control Tower and has taken over the park! Now all of the once friendly clowns and other robotic characters have run amok, bringing evil chaos to an otherwise pleasant day at this state-of-the-art park. In Arcade Shooting Gallery, your mission is clear. Players assume the roles of Tony and Melissa in this third person shooter with a colorful cartoon feel. Shoot down enemies with Laser Guns, Bubble Bomb Pistols, and more in order to bring order back to the park. Explore different sections of the carnival and shoot down all that comes at you—but be aware, these enemies will not go down quietly. Fend off their attacks and you’ll be home free.

3.0 out of 5 stars Might be good for very young kids..., December 1, 2009

The Wii is sadly lacking in arcade type shooting games, so when this was released we ordered it. Turns out it's likely targeted toward a very young audience. We did give it a chance, but for anyone over 8-10 years old it will seem very simplistic. It would have been good to have seen an age group referenced for the intended audience.

On the other hand, it is very colorful and would appeal to the younger players.

2.0 out of 5 stars Strange and Mis-named, December 30, 2009

In my opinion, this game is totally mis-titled. You would think that a game called "shooting gallery arcade" would have a game in it that included a shooting gallery arcade...but it does not. Instead, you walk around a deserted carnival while shooting deranged pink elephants and psycho robot clowns that randomly attack you. It has a few mini-games, which would have been a lovely opportunity for the developer to include a shooting gallery...but they didn't. Instead they included a few lame games like darts, ski-bowl, and whack-a-mole. What in the world?

I was looking for a simple shooting game for my young boys (like the old Duck Hunt for the original Nintendo) but this is not it.

2.0 out of 5 stars definately for kids..., December 27, 2009
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars

We bought this game- then got the guns for the game. When we pressed play, it says to disconnect the guns and just use the remote. I just used the remote like the instructions said. I didn't find the games that need a gun, but the gun still works with it. My wife kept her gun on and it still played well. Thus, you do NOT need to buy guns for this game. So, how fun was it? A bit confusing at first, but then it got easier to understand. My wife and I love the Time Crisis and Point Blank series, but this game would be good for 8-10 year kids. We tried darts, basketball, shoot the bad guy, and several of the games in the series. After about 15 minutes, we were pretty bored. The bottom line- if your 7-8 year old kid wants to get this game, they will like it.
