5.0 out of 5 stars arcade zone
This game has what every old person will remember from our Atari days gone by.
My five year old granddaughter is hooked on skeet ball.
I highly recommend it to old and young alike.

Got this game yesterday and it looked promising.

Got this game yesterday and it looked promising.

Had 3 friends over to play and let me say, I was a bit embarrassed by this game. While this is no means a complete review, I can tell you from my initial experience with it, I don't know how much I'll be returning to the game. The controls were terrible for most of the mini-games we tried. The Skee-ball was almost impossible to control and more often than not we ended up not scoring points at all because the ball would barely go up the alley. Other games were also hard to control and the instructions on how the games are played were not helpful. There are annoying voice overs that I wish you could turn off (and maybe you can in a setting, I didn't look). There is a lot of content in the game and at $30, it's not bad so that is the reason I didn't give it a one star rating. However, if all the games were as bad and hard to control as the ones I played so far, I don't see myself returning to this game much more again. I was thinking maybe I should have played a bit more to review this game, but my initial impression did NOT make me (or my friends) want to stick around for very long with it. I only wish I had rented it rather than spending about $30 on it. At least maybe I can save a few others who are on the fence about this game from making the mistake I did.

As an aside, I know it gets a bad rep by "hardcore gamers" but stick with Carnival Games for Wii if you want to see a much better version of a game similar to this.

1.0 out of 5 stars No options for this game, September 13, 2009

I actually only got this game because it included Kaboom!, and old arcade game that my family enjoyed back in the Atari era... Much to my disappointment, however, there are no options to just play Kaboom (or for that matter, any of the other games) by itself, the player must first earn enough points on some other useless games before Kaboom is "unlocked" for that player to be able to play it.

1.0 out of 5 stars You need to be patient to play, November 27, 2009

It spends a long time loading and as said in earlier reviews you can't directly select a game so the menus aren't clear as to what games are available. Just poorly designed and linked together. Maybe worth $10 and good to keep kids busy.

1.0 out of 5 stars How to make fun games not fun, March 22, 2010

I'm an arcade/retro fan, and bought this title based on the arcade content. Unfortunately, the games themselves are very difficult to get to, and almost all of them must be unlocked by playing the games in a particular order and getting a good enough score on each (which is not terribly difficult, just tedious). Unfortunately, even after unlocking, there's no quick and easy way to launch the specific games one might be interested in, and you have to put up with annoying background dialog to boot. Not worth spending money on.

This game is a cartoon game with real arcade games and scince that is my favorite entertainment i got it. It is kind of like a real arcade on your TV screen! I love it! It is diffucult because you have to really move the remote in critter hitter (wack a mole)which is tricky! Abyway it is OK.

For those of you who like the 'old-fashiioned' arcade games this is the one! I bought it for Kaboom which I really loved on my old Atari system and have really missed since I can no longer use the Atari console. Sadly, Kaboom is 'locked' and I have yet to get to it! Guess I'll just have to keep trying.

3.0 out of 5 stars Better as a group game, February 7, 2010

I love the arcade so I thought this game would be lots of fun. IN the end, it wasn't too hard to beat some of the high scores (I am NOT a major gamer) and it was nearly impossible to beat some of the other high scores. Also, the 'host' of each section of arcade games (they are grouped into themes) is sorta funny when you first hear them speak, but then they say the same things repetitively and quickly become obnoxious. I think this game is just OK when playing it on your own, but can be much more fun when playing it with friends/family.

I bought this for a game I like and to play the game I like you have to beat the rest of the games. I really don't like the others games. Not happy with this.

3.0 out of 5 stars Kaboom and Space Hockey games are locked in Arcade Master Zone, September 30, 2011

If you are buying this game for Kaboom or the Space Hockey game. They are locked in the Arcade Master Zone.
You must beat all high scores on the Classic Zone to open Arcade Master. We didn't get all the high scores yet.
There is a sci fi zone, a pirate zone and a classic zone.
Annoying and very repetitive voices, they say the same things over and over again.

Classic Zone consists of
Alley Ball
like skeet ball, get bonus pts for ball in marked holes.

Jump Shot Classic
basketball shooting, make more than 5 shots in a row and watch out! After each shot, backboard moves.

Critter Hitter
Like wack a mole game, try to hit the golden critters the pts are doubled.

Freeway
Similar to frogger, but you have a chicken and you have to cross freeway to score 20pts each.

Pizza Party,
Make pizzas with sauce, pepperoni and cheese, then click on timer so pizzas don't burn and score pts. Get enough pts and Todd will open up the prize store, so you can spend your pts on stupid prizes or not.

Pirate Zone:

Ship Toss
Shoot at boats for pts.

Pirate Booty Spin
Spin and stop on the maps for bigger pts.

Deck Swab Hockey
first 7 goals wins. Can't go past 70 pts.

Atlantis
Aim your turret and blast them away. Watch out for skull and crossbone ships as they will come right for you.

Smoothie Maker
mix ingredients listed in blender cup and then place on blender base to mix and get your next one. Miss place or drop your blender you will lose that blender and start over, so be careful.

Sci-fi
Brick Tower
similar to tetris, got to get them perfect to beat their high score of 960, top score you can get is 990.

Landing Party Panic
Aim your laser gun and fire away. Only hit enemies and not friendlies like astronauts, earth or shuttles.

Rocket Knockdown
Like Bowling with a twist. Blockades and holes in the floor can stop your ball. High scores win.

MegaMania
similar to space invaders, sort of. Both players will play at the same time. Bonus is in the fuel bar, don't run out of energy.

Corn Dog Stand
Select a hot dog, put a stick through it, spray it with batter, it will then fall into the fryer, but you will need to click on the timer before it burns, but while you are waiting you can move on to the next hot dog and so on.

Arcade Master Zone.
you will start out with 3 buckets, every time you miss a bomb, you will lose 1 bucket & so on. But you can earn back the buckets, 1 bucket returned every 500 pts. Game over when you lose all 3 buckets. Very fast paced game.

Space Hockey
Like the table, but don't like that you just can't play your opponent and not just Derek the arcade master guy.
first player to 10 pts wins.

Overall Review, Voices get to be very annoying after awhile and break your concentration. So, we mute them or turn volume down. Cartoonish characters. If you don't choose to save the game on your Wii, you will start over each time and YOU WILL NEVER UNLOCK THE ARCADE MASTER ZONE. That is why we bought the game to begin with. It took us 1 day in a half to unlock Arcade Master Zone.

Buyer beware. could be better, some games are fun, but some we won't play ever again. Better to get on sale for $15/$20 bucks. Hope this helps. We would give it 3 stars. Just wish it wasn't locked to begin with.
