This is an excellent hard rock album in the vein of Aerosmith/Zeppelin made at a time(1993) when a non grunge rocker couldn't get a return phone call. Starts off strong with Dancin With The Angels which has a nasty groove not dissimilar to Joe Perry's Let The Music Do the Talkin. Screamin SOS and Livin' Dangerously rock with a vengeance. There's even some substance in the lyrics on songs like Messed Up World and Mother Blues. If you wanna hear hard rock made without samples or studio trickery by rock vets, pick this one up.

I'm sure there are plenty of you out there that fully supported Ratt in their heyday,like myself.Vocalist Stephen Pearcy formed this 'new' band Arcade(was originally supposed to be Taboo).Arcade has twelve rockin' tracks that shouldn't let too many down.Liked about every tune here,including the slamming "Dancing With The Angels",the disc's single "Nothing To Lose","Screaming SOS","Messed Up World" and "Living Dangerously".Great material here.You know,if Ratt had made a record like this rather than their cop out of an lp 'Detonator',the group just might've lasted longer.Oh,well.

Stephen Pearcy is hands down the the best sleaze rock singer/ showman of that wonderful 80's era as well as today. Listen to this album and in the next second or 2, you'll be in your car with every window down and your stereo cranked up to the max, reliving the period of time, when your fist did the talking and "Let there be Metal" were the words you lived by! Pearcy, plain & simple rocks!!!! And we're talking "METAL" my friends! This album does righteous justice to the moniker! "All shook up" should be played over and over again in the workplace, it rocks so hard! The wonderfully delightful SEXY egotist, who has been likend to that that of a slick black cat, truly deserves the iconic title of "Scream King" -- move over Vince Neil & Axl Rose, let Stephen Pearcy show you how it's done! Incredible!

Back in the early 90's, Stephen Pearcy left RATT to form a new band (with Cinderella drummer Fred Coury) ARCADE, in the 2 albums released by Arcade(93' s/t and 94'"A2") it was obviouse that this was an incredable band that should have been just as big as RATT ever was. Unfortunatly times and musical tastes where changing and ARCADE never got the push they deserved.
Now with the re-release of their 93' self titled album comes the chance to re-discover a Band that had it all but just never exploded on the scean as they should have.
From the opening of "Dancin'with the Angels" to the final song, a deep Pearcy epic titled "Mother of Blues", the band takes you on a Rock'n'Roll rollercoaster of everything that ruled about rock in the 80's early 90's. Afew other standout tracks include the semi hit "Nothin'to Lose", "Messed up World", "All Shook Up", and "Calm Before the Storm" (Which was originally going to be the title of the Album).
Great songwriting, great production, great attitude, after listening to this album you'll wish this band was still around. I also highly recommend their 2nd disc, the much more aggressive "A2".

This album is at the pinnacle of 80s metal made in the 90s. The musicianship is mature, with prominent bass, drums, and guitar in the mix. Stephen Pearcy's vocals are superb. The lyrical content is dark and most akin to Motley Crue on their first two albums. Ten years after this album's release, it still sounds incredible.

I wanted to take some time and listen to it a few times before writing a review. I wanted to be sure to get it right. I purchased this cd expecting to be mildly diappointed by it. I was very wrong. Although I found myself comparing it to Ratt because of the voice of Stephen Pearcy, I had to point out some differences. Any Ratt fan would love to have this one. "Nothin' to Lose" sounds like a typical Ratt song to me and I love it! However another favorite of mine is "Cry no more", a ballad!! "Mother Blues" is a acoustic and a little bluesy which is obvious from the title. In my opinion every song on this cd is well worth the listening. Hats off to a group who can make entertaining music without the use of four letter words. It's called talent. I can't stop listening to it. I'd highly reccomend this for any collection, especially for Ratt fans!!

Incredibly good CD, as is their second album. Together, Arcade is Stephen Pearcy's best work. Only "Out of the Cellar" and "Invasion" are even close. Heavier than anything Ratt's ever done, but not too heavy for those of you who fear heavy metal.

I first heard the tracks on the radio station when I moved to Colorado and it hooked my from the first note.

This album is full of raw energy and dynamic sound. It truly is what Ratt should have developed into, had they not fell to infighting.

It's too bad that Pearcy seems to run through bands like toilet paper. Word from the guitarist from Widowmaker was that Pearcy "has no business ethics." I suspect that this is why the man can't hold a band together.

but this album...this album was a last fist in the eye to the death of Metal to that infernal Grunge nonsense.

It simply rocks. Now and back in 1993.

an album lost in seattle music.that ratt sound all the way.stronger vocals than i thought pearcy had in him,even the slower ones.if you like ratt you will like this one.if you like ratt you HAVE to have this one.

THIS IS A TRULY HEAVY ALBUM BY AN EVEN HEAVIER BAND!! I GOT THE CHANCE TO SEE THESE GUYS IN A BAR IN OMAHA AND ALMOST WISH THEY WOULD'VE STAYED TOGETHER INSTEAD OF REINCARNATING RATT.. "MESSED UP WORLD" JAMS. "DANCIN' WITH THE ANGELS" IS DEFENITELY NOT A REMIX OF "DANCIN' UNDERCOVER" AND "CRY NO MORE" SHOULD'VE GONE HIGHER THAN IT DID ON THE SINGLES(?) CHART. DEFENITELY FIVE STARS AND A TRULY ROCKIN' LISTENING EXPERIENCE-- EVEN IF YOU'RE NOT A RATT FAN!
