This is just a quick review for those curious about this set:

Arcade Greatest Hits: the Midway Collection 2 is a must-own for arcade junkies because it contains 2 games not found in any other collection on the PC to date: BURGER TIME and MOON PATROL.

BURGER TIME of course is the classic climbing game where the player controls Peter Pepper in his first adventure putting together giant burgers for some insane fast food restaurant by running over the pieces (bun, lettuce, patty, etc) to drop it down one level to the bottom. He must build burgers and collect bonus point desserts and his only defense against the pursuing bad guys (anthropomorphic sausages, eggs and so forth that kill him in one touch) is a limited use pepper shaker that stuns enemies, though he can also gain extra points by mashing them between burger components.

This game is a lot of fun and has very simple controls (a four-way joystick with a single button is best), but remains challenging. It's too bad there was no simultaneous 2 player mode (players only take turns).

MOON PATROL is your basic side scrolling shooter/jumper reflex game. The oddly colored vehicle must hop over obstacles and blast enemies. Not much to say about it, other than it's very simple and charming and inspired many other games of the type such as Silkworm.

The rest of the games in this set are playable arcade classics, but other sets exist which include these and more. Overall it's a bare bones set, but if you must own perfect emulations of MOON PATROL and BURGER TIME, this is an inexpensive way to do it!

It's worth noting also that the (low quality) video interviews on this disc also appear unique to this set and are worth watching for the nostalgia (and that includes early 1990's production values nostalgia!).

4.0 out of 5 stars Classic games August 1, 2007

Games are just like the original arcade games. Most even say to insert coin to start. I was putting quarters when these were the hits of the arcade - video, sound, and timing are exactly like the originals.
