While I have read much of other books by Ballard, this is the best I think because the text is full, detailed, written by pros yet readable; Ballard is editor and author. It is llustrated with many photos and diagrams. The book includes geologic and biologic dives, the hunts for shipwrecks both famous and ancient, and archaeology of former coastlands that are now underwater.
