This CD does indeed include "Stars," "Tragedy," "King of the Mountain," and others. It's exactly as I remembered it...high-wattage Keyboard/Guitar Rock, along the lines of Journey.
This CD is almost a classic, with at least one song - - Stars - - that I think is a classic.

This is one great disc that I have never seen on CD. I had the original vinyl pressing of it. I bought it brand new and deserted it when CD's became widely available. Others have mentioned songs like 'Stars' and 'King of the Mountain' but, the one I remember the most was 'Tragedy'. It got the most airplay in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex. Great album all around I recommend buying it if you can find it for less than $20.00.

Damn! I was a HS senior when "Tragedy" hit the airwaves. And for some reason out of nowhere I'll find my self singing the chorus. I loved that song then and I'll definitely buy this CD after I get Orion the Hunter in a few days. It was Orion the Hunter, Zebra and these guys who were great musically but probably never hit it rich.

American pomp/AOR band ArcAngel released their self-titled debut in 1983. The band, which was more or less a project put together by vocalist/guitarist Jeff Cannata, hit that sweet spot between AOR, melodic rock and pomp rock, sounding like a mix of Saga, Magnum and Aldo Nova.

With ArcAngel, you're essentially looking at three distinct elements that come together brilliantly - wickedly catchy guitar hooks, dynamic keys and synths, and Cannata's unique vocals (speaking of vocals, future House of Lords frontman James Christian provides background vocals here). This is a completely irresistible album, and one that's catchy and radio-friendly but also has that cool `80s soundtrack rock mystique. "Stars," "Before the Storm," "Sidelines"...it's almost pointless to list individual highlights when the whole album is this fantastic.

It's a shame ArcAngel never made a big breakthrough, because they put out one of the best albums the `80s AOR scene had to offer. ArcAngel didn't last, but Cannata remained active in his solo career. If you're a fan of the early `80s melodic rock sound, particularly bands like Aldo Nova, Touch, Alaska, Magnum and Saga, this is an essential purchase.

Edition Notes: ArcAngel was only available on CD as a pricey Japanese import until recently. It was reissued in 2011 and is still available. I've only heard the vinyl edition, so I can't comment on how the reissue sounds.

This was originally released on record and cassette in 1983,but it went out of print so fast that it never appeared on CD until it was re-released as an import. This album is very good all around. It sounds like a cross between Little River Band and Supertramp on steroids.Plenty of keyboards along with catchy hooks and melodies which is how a good 80's rock album should sound. The song,"Tragedy" was the most popular hit from this album to hit FM radio back in the day.The rest of the album is pretty good."Rock me Tonight","Wanted Dead or Alive" and "Stars" also sounded good. One of the last albums of its kind to be made shortly before heavy metal became widely popular. If you are a fan of early 80's AOR style of rock, this is worth checking out if you can find it.
