4.0 out of 5 stars Break neck speed sci-fi action thriller, November 6, 2000
By
This review is from: Archangel Crusader (Paperback)
I read this book in three nights and looked forward to opening it each time. The plot is well developed and cleverly woven. There are some unexpected twists but the real highlight is the author's character development. They are full, inspired and believable and they wear both black and white hats. I was surprised by the degree of evil and eroticism that the author instilled in the antagonist. I recommend this book to devotees of Clive Cussler and Ian Fleming; many similarities in style and plot structuring. Have a look - enjoy the fast read - and beware of Mr. K! My hats off to Ms. Schartz and I look forward to the release of the sequel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant! A must-read book!, October 25, 2001

This review is from: Archangel Crusader (Paperback)
From the author of Ashes for the Elephant God comes a novel that speaks from the heart about relationships, angels, aliens and seduction. Vijaya Schartz offers a page-turner entitled Archangel Crusader that kept this reviewer riveted.

The protagonist, Michael Tanner (tall, good looking and muscular) is a brawler and boozer who uses fighting and alcohol to cope with his feelings of inadequacy and his various failed relationships. He meets a Blue Angel who claims to be his father...but Michael sees this as one more hallucination. However, his girlfriend then disappears, his daughter is threatened, and Michael finds reality in the alien threatening her, and Earth.

Vijaya Schartz skillfully weaves new age thought, science fiction, fantasy and even Satanism into a novel about good versus evil, and failure versus enlightenment. Archangel Crusader propels the reader to among other places, Philadelphia, Paris, Washington DC and yes, outer space.

This reviewer discovered, in Archangel Crusader, a book written on at least two levels...the mark of a good book. Surely we have a compelling fantasy novel that will take charge of your life so that you won't want to put it down, And, we find a book of truths that illuminate the paths of good and evil...and the destiny each affords.

In the final analysis, Vijaya Schartz has given us a book about redemption and healing. In this reviewer's opinion, Archangel rusader is a superior novel that enthralls and, at the same time, awakens!

5.0 out of 5 stars An accomplished and fully engaging story-teller, January 22, 2001
This review is from: Archangel Crusader (Paperback)
Vijaya Schartz is an accomplished and fully engaging story-teller. The storyline for Archangel Crusader finds Michael Tanner, a proud, brash, irreverent, single father not believing in aliens when a Blue Angle appears and claims to have fathered him. It must be Michael's drinking! But then a seductive Prince of Darkness begins to target his family. When his girlfriend disappears and characters from his dreams suddenly materialize to threaten his daughter, Michael must face and deal with the unbelievable mystery of his birth and fulfill his destiny. Also highly recommended is Schartz's first novel, Ashes For The Elephant God...
