Steiner on Archangel Michael,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Archangel Michael: His Mission and Ours: Selected Lectures and Writing (Paperback)
A rewarding, even inspiring, but demanding read. Juicy and lengthy. A very good overview and reminder of the spiritual challenges of our time, as identified by Steiner. Rudolf Steiner is not for everyone, but I think the open-minded and those familiar with his voice will find this book of later lectures (mostly 1918-1924) very interesting and providing much food for thought.Naming Archangel Michael as our World Regent for the Time Cycle 1879-2400, Steiner says Michael's mission for humanity includes: -inspiring the flow of the spiritual life into the sense world -imbuing science with a sense of the sacred -expanding the concrete intellectual mind to include the active, living, personal connection to the divine- both within and without. - helping us to think more deeply with more clarity -giving us strength in our struggle with personal and collective 'dragons' (all that impedes our potential) And much more!

This review is from: The Archangel Michael: His Mission and Ours: Selected Lectures and Writing (Paperback)
This book is a compilation of various topics closely or distantly related to the "The Archangel Michael" of Rudolf Steiner -- which does seem to focus this book somewhat. For folks who need, want or like to see detailed commentary on just about anything related to the "The Archangel Michael" of Rudolf Steiner -- as well as a good introduction to Rudolf Steiner -- this book may be quite interesting. This is all from the unique point-of-view of Rudolf Steiner, the Founder of the Anthroposophic movement. Many other traditions are commented-on by-the-way as Rudolf Steiner moves from topic to topic in an almost lecture like way -- as much of this compilation is based on just such lectures. It is organized fairly well theme-by-theme in any case. Other traditions remarked-upon include Pagan, Yogic, Persian, Hindu, Buddhist, Jewish, Christian, Islamic and Rosicrucian ones. Steiner seems to earnestly reflect-upon each of these -- as related to "The Archangel Michael" -- all from an Anthroposophic angle -- which seems interesting and valuable -- and refreshingly different from semi-traditional angles such as Rosicrucian ones. Via this book, I can see why Rudolf Steiner has had such a large respectful audience +++
