Myss has a soul contract theory where people have 12 archetypes in their soul at any given time that they are carrying out. Archetype are roles/positions that people take on. Some examples are King, Queen, Prince, Hermit, Divine Child, Prostitute, Thief, Martyr, Pioneer, Priest and Dilettante. The cards mention the good qualities and bad qualities of each archetype. These cards illustrate numerous archetypes. Her ideas are brilliant and the cards are soothing and colorful. I am a psychologist and have found clients like this deck to tell them different facets of their persona. I have found this useful for myself regarding my personality and certain paths I needed to undertake this lifetime.
I recommend this deck but I caution the reader to read her book Soul contracts first in order to understand how to use this deck.

As a student of Archetypal psychology I had hoped these cards would be useful in my practice, however the presented archetypes and their related traits and examples are completely off base. The art work is quite nice, and the cards are decently well made in the style of most retail Tarot cards, but ultimately not what I was expecting.

I like the cards I have the book. But I wish the cards would have some of the content on steps to work toward alignment like in the book.

Rather useless compared to the book. If you want something to use as decoration under glass on a tabletop, great.

I just recently purchased these cards from my local New Age book store and I have to say that they are very captivating! They caught my attention because of how different they are. The art is nice and the explanations of each archetype are great! I don't use them the way the guidebook suggests. I use them to help clarify my personal behaviors or the clients I am conducting an intuitive reading for. It's a great tool for readers who use tarot or oracle cards and I would definately recommend them in conjunction with any other cards! Great to addition to my card collection!

I didn't find it much help in understanding the arcetypes and how I could fit them into my bofy of knowledge and use the information. I have been a fan of Ms. Myss for many years, and one thing i can say is her books generally wonder off and seldom complete a concept presented in the chapters. Difficult and sad because she has so much to offer.

This was a nice gift for my daughter who talked about the book endlessly. However, since she received the cards, she has not mentioned them again. I think she was not too impressed.

I purchased the Archtype Cards as a birthday present for my closest friend. She was delighted! We met for lunch and hardly touched our food before looking at several of the beautifully illustrated cards. She asked me to draw one for her at random. "The Bully." This archetype was manifesting itself in her work environment! The descriptions of each archetype are instructive and insightful. In addition, blank cards are provided so that you may create your own new archetypes. I always love giving gifts I would enjoy myself. This is one such gift.

I have not figured out yet why they created cards and just did not put the information in a book. Maybe I am missing something. I like the information given, its interesting but a book format would have been better.

I highly recommend these cards for any one wanting to simply understand archetypes and how they apply in our lives. They are beautifully presented and a pleasure to use.
