I have actually spoken to Ron Dante directly and he says if the sales from this CD are good, he is negotiating to have all the old Archie albums released next year on CD. Ron is very talented and any project he has his hands on will be a good one. The vocals and style may seem different on this CD but the music is happy and right now we could all use a CD of happy tunes to take our minds off of all things going on around us. We may not have control over what is going on right now, but you can buy this CD and escape to a happier place.

Ron Dante, the original singing voice behind "Sugar, Sugar" and all the other Archies megahits, performs on multiple tracks as if the last four decades never happened -- with Danielle van Zyl and Kelly-Lynn singing for Betty and Veronica (the great Toni Wine, who sang for them on many of the original records, is touring with Tony Orlando and she'll most likely be at Epcot this May when Tony returns).

In addition to all-time holiday pop hits like "Jingle Bell Rock" and the Springsteen-style "Santa Claus is Coming to Town," there are two new songs: "Archie's Christmas Party" and "Christmas in Riverdale." And sitting in for Jughead on drums for this album is none other than Keith Thibodeaux, who played Little Ricky on I Love Lucy!

This is an amazing Cd . There is so much talent and musicianship behind it and so many years experience that you would not perhaps expect much less . This production is brilliant and Ron Dante has really surpassed himself even with this one !! There is a wonderful wall of sound on the songs which is almost Spectoresque but obviously the soul content is less giving way to the familiar joyful enthusiastic rock pop style so familiar to followers of the Archies . Well after so many years since the last new album this edition certainly keeps the legend alive - and how !!! The arrangements out do ABBA who never had the pop and rock credentials of the people behind this fabulous work . This is one of the most enjoyable CDs from start to finish that I have ever heard . It is the best Christmas CD I have heard and really puts a person in the mood for Christmas which normally I ain't !! Let's please have a new Archies pop CD in 2010 Ron !! Thanks for this though and the nice packaging pictures and liner notes .

As a younger person I loved Archie comics, and when the music started coming out I couldn't help but listen. I eagerly awaited each new album.
I believe there were only five of them. At least, that was all I found. So, when I learned of this NEW album of Christmas music, I had to have it. I am not disappointed with my purchase. This album has female lead vocals by Betty and Veronica. The songs of yesteryear were all sung by Archie. I'm glad Archie finally gave them a chance to shine, because that's exactly what they do. They have incredible voices. If you love the Archies, and you love Christmas songs, this CD is a must have.

WOW! I have been an ARCHIE fan since almost the day I was born! I have the Archie lunchbox, jelly glasses, cardboard records off the cereal boxes, comic books, trading cards, albums, cassettes, puzzles...you get my drift...I LOVE THE ARCHIES! A cd of new recordings? To top that...CHRISTMAS songs? How happy and excited can one person be!
I have to admit that I do wish that the recordings did contain slightly
more Ron Dante vocals but still...LOVE THE CD!
This will be my new staple Christmas cd in my player this season
and every holiday season hereafter! The Archies are back and hopefully
here to stay! It's a "Jingle Jangle" holiday season this year thanks to THE ARCHIES! YOU ROCK!
Please Ron Dante, how about a cd of all those unreleased Archie tracks out there! Good God! As excited as I was about this Christmas release, I don't know how I would handle a release like that!

As the title indicates, long time Archie singer Ron Dante is joined by two lovely ladies stepping in for Betty and Veronica.
While the last two tracks are the only new songs, the arrangements and singing on the others will make one think that they have gone back in time to when the Archies were more active on the music scene.
While the adult I am knows the background of the musicians and characters they're fronting, the young music fan within who first heard the group back in 1968 cannot help hoping there will be more new recordings soon.

Great sounding Christmas favorites with a twist for today! The Voice of Veronica (Kelly-Lynn)is amazing! I hope to be hearing more from her. Great job! keep'em comming!

RON DANTE WHAT WERE YOU THINKING OF THIS IS NOT THE ARCHIES AS I REMEMBER THEM. EVERYDAY I STILL PLAY AN ARCHIES OR RON DANTE SONG THEY MAKE ME HAPPY! THIS SOUNDS MORE LIKE A JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS CHRISTMAS CD WHICH IN ITSELF WOULD NOT BE A BAD THING BUT TO PASS THESE GIRLS OFF AS LEAD SINGERS FOR THE ARCHIES AND HIDE YOURSELF IN THE BACKGROUND WHEN YOU ARE THE ARCHIES IS A MORTAL SIN! I LOVE THE FACT THAT THE (GROUP) IS BACK BUT WITHOUT YOUR VOCALS THIS IS JUST A CHEAP IMITATION. ALL IS NOT TOTALLY LOST BECAUSE WHEN RON DANTE CAN BE HEARD THE ARCHIES ARE INDEED ALIVE AGAIN COULDN'T HE HAVE SUNG THESE SONGS AS A DUET IF HE DIDN'T WANT THE JOB OF LEAD VOCALIST? THIS CD IS UPBEAT FUN PEPPY AND HAS LOTS OF FAMILIAR CHRISTMAS SONGS BUT WITHOUT RON DANTE'S LEAD VOCALS (IT AIN'T THE ARCHIES WITHOUT THE JUGHEAD BEAT) IN OTHER WORDS IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT!!! Somethings you never forget. That special summer. That special someone. That special song.That special Christmas.Things that make you feel good inside that goes with you the rest of your life. The Archies have always done that for me since 1968 with their Saturday morning tv series and comic books. I've always liked their sound.Especially Ron Dante's youthful/versatile voice and producing.The Christmas Party cd still has their signature beat as they had back in the late 60's.All of the songs are familiar except the two new ones at the end of the cd,"Archie's Christmas Party" and "Christmas in Riverdale."Its a great Christmas cd addition. Everything is still Archie.
