This review is from: Architec Acacia Gripper Raw Edge Cutting Board, 11 by 17-Inch (Kitchen)
I like the raw edge trend and thought this cutting board would make a good presentation piece for cheeses. In person it's less of a true raw edge and more that one edge is distressed or sanded down. So it doesn't have the same rugged, earthy visual impact as pictured. Also there was a bit of a putty repair on the surface which is fairly obvious. However it is a solid board, the wood is good quality and it doesn't slip. So if you're looking for a utilitarian cutting board this is fine, but if you're searching for more of a unique statement piece it's not a great choice, the detail work just isn't there.

If you're hoping to get a cutting board similar to the one in the Amazon picture (or even on the picture on the product's packaging) look elsewhere. There is no 'raw edge', the sides and edges are smoothly sanded to a completely flat surface, albeit at an angle. The product in the images is simply not what you get.

not at all as pictured -- false advertising,
This review is from: Architec Acacia Gripper Raw Edge Cutting Board, 11 by 17-Inch (Kitchen)
I stupidly did not look at these reviews until after I already ordered the item. Then, I hoped against hope that my cutting board would be different than all the other ones reviewed here, and that I would actually get the cutting board in the picture -- with the very cool raw, jagged edge. Alas, to no avail. What you get is a slightly wavy edged board -- not raw, not jagged. That one unique characteristic of this product is missing. It's not a bad cutting board if you want a boring, basically-rectangular-with-wavy-edges board. But if you're looking for something more unique, like the picture, this is not it. I called Architec to complain and they never called me back. Shocker. If you had a similar experience, please post your review so that Amazon will stop advertising the product with this picture!
