5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, functional, sturdy, inexpensive. What more do you need?
Love love love this cutting board. Hard rubber gripper feet are secured within the wood, NOT glued on, so they'll never come off. I have the smaller version of this board as well. Just be sure to oil it plenty when you first get it, and once a week for a month, and then once a month after that. Plain mineral oil from the drugstore is fine - it's the same as the...

3.0 out of 5 stars good price, not a great primary cutting board
This is a nice cutting board for the price. However, I wouldn't use it as my primary cutting board (there are better options for that).

PROS:
Gripper feet are very nice.
Very affordable.
Light.

CONS:
Too thin, prone to warping.
Perhaps quality control isn't real good.
How it holds up remains to be seen...

I don't normally "love" cutting boards, but I love this one. It's simple, elegant, and beautiful. The rubber grips on the bottom are great too, keeping it from slipping around and holding it off the table, so you can put it back there right after hand washing.

Having owned several bamboo cutting boards, I decided to purchase two of these for my mother, who has been using the same cutting board set for almost a decade for christmas. The main purpose was because bamboo cutting boards are much more hygienic, more environmentally friendly (bamboo grows quickly and is a very renewable source), and that it's pretty tough.
The boards do come a little fuzzy at first, but after a bit of use and washing, they become very strong. As is with most lower end boards, cut marks do become visible, but those will eventually wear away as the outer finish of the board grows more weathered. This is nothing bad.
The best selling point about these boards are the rubber feet. While they do take away an entire side of a board to use for cooking, they provide a vital role in keeping the board still while you're dicing (these boards are light and would probably slide around otherwise without the feet; I've had bad experience with other boards sliding around) and also helps air the board while it dries, keeping the bamboo off the ground and letting the water soak in and promote bacterial growth.

My only qualms about this board are the lightness of the bamboo. My own boards are very dark in color, giving them a very rich quality. These boards are VERY light in color, so if you really like matching your cookware, make sure that you have a brighter kitchen, or you may begin thinking these are a bit of an eye-sore.

i have used the cutting board now for about a month and am impressed with how nice it is to have 'grippers' on the bottom. the board does not wander on the counter and both the board and counter are easier to keep clean. at first i used it only for buttering toast and as a hot board as it is very attractive but i have now diced and sliced on it so it will [hopefully] have a long and useful life. very nice product. **** 4 stars

These are my favorite cutting boards. I bought 2 over a month ago and use them all the time. They're stain-resistant ( haven't done the Roasted Beet Test yet though), and a breeze to hand wash since they're bamboo and so smooth. I love the grippy feet. Mine haven't warped or worn at all with heavy use.
NOTE: The actual size is 10" x 14". Not a big deal to me, but be aware.

Wonderful product!

Rarely do you see design and beauty come together in the kitchen: you get one or the other, but not both. This Architec Bamboo board is the perfect size, not too small, not too big. The grips hold it steady even with heavy cleaver work, and it looks great. Easier to clean than I expected, so that, too, is a plus.

I love these gripper bamboo cutting boards and have a couple of them. I would caution that they become slightly discolored if not wiped after every use. The smaller version is a much better deal.

I needed a new cutting board but was a bit apprehensive to order bamboo due to splitting reports. However, this was a great purchase! I oiled it prior to use as directed and the gripper feet make this all worthwhile. No more "catching the board" as it slides around the counter. It is a good size (11 X 14) and works great for all types of cutting. I have not used it for poultry as I want to avoid health concerns where ever possible. Don't hesitate to purchase this, it is a great price and will deliver!

5.0 out of 5 stars Take It From a New Cook, July 20, 2011

I am new to the cooking word, so when I began I started with a 9.75" x 7.75" Glass Cutting Board, just like my father always used. I should've taken into account he hardly ever cooks because within a few months of enduring my abuse the top looked completely destroyed by knife cuts that were intended to slice the veggies/meat, but missed... or trying to simulate Rachael Ray and failing horribly.

My mother got me this cutting board from Bed, Bath and Beyond a little over a year ago. (It was on sale, so I couldn't tell you if the deal on here is better or not.) I completely fell in love.

I was scared that the bamboo would show the battle wounds of me attempting to cook, but it is very sturdy. There is not even a scratch, which is pretty amazing considering what I have put it through.

I also love the grippers at the bottom. With my old cutting board I would have to hold it in place, but with this one I can use both hands to focus on my cutting abilities. (Or lack thereof :)!)

The only thing that I had to get use to was the oiling of the bamboo. I used Joyce Chen Bamboo Wood Oil, 8 Ounces, which isn't that expensive and you don't have to use too much to get the job done.

Something not mentioned about the gripper feet is that they are not simply rubber plugs placed in the corners as I had imagined. They are substantial triangular pads with multiple plugs on each. A superior design for sure.
Just enough height to get a hold of it when you need to.
For me the ideal size and weight, a pleasure use and to look at.
