5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use
Working with kitchen twine to tie off game hens, pork loins, et al is always a bit of a hassle, especially when the meat is marinated. These bands are easy to use and place around food items; much faster than looping and tying twine. Compared to the cooking twine, it's not very cost effective, but if you don't tie off roasts, game birds, etc., very often, you'll want to...

1.0 out of 5 stars Ugh.
Definitely NOT for a softer cut of meat! I was roasting pork tenderloins(the recipe called for tying two tenderloins together with twine). When I couldn't find twine, I found these bands and decided to give them a try. They held the tenderloins together, but cut into the meat to the point that they were pretty much inside the roast when it was done. Probably a good...

this is a high quality product and it works very well trussing a chicken to put into a rotissere oven and they clean up very well to be reused again so you can always have them handy when you need them would recommend them to others who use a rotissere oven at home last longer than the twine does

I really like these things - I lost mine at a BBQ competition so I'm getting more. They're so much easier to use than twine. Just stretch them over your cook and they hold your stuff.

And they really tolerate the heat. I used some on a chicken rotisserie to keep the extremities bound. The bands were 3 inches away from high temp as the bird rotated and looked good as new when done.

Buy these and toss the twine.

You can tie up a bird with string, if you happen to have a spool of cooking string handy. It is not a part of my kitchen counter clutter. These bands do the same job much easier and are easy to store in a drawer.

Just used them for the first time to truss a couple of chickens to roast, and they worked great! Easy to clean (ran them through the dishwasher), easy to use, and didn't stick to the food.

If you've ever had to tie off a roast with string, etc. you can identify with the hassles this can produce. These bands are fabulous. And yes, they withstand the high temperatures required to brown the meat in a super hot skillet. They also do well in the baking oven and be used time and time again. Buy it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome utility bands, even for non-food related tasks., September 10, 2011

Got these at BB&B for my mom when she was cooking. Liked them so much I put bands on my tools, power cords and other places. These are the sturdiest rubber bands you will find in the home. They are great for work outside the kitchen. Now I dont have to worry about camping gear coming loose or separating pieces of survival kits or first aid. Yes you could use cord for that stuff, but the most advanced nylon line in the world won't stretch as much as these rubber bands, and they are easier to reuse or rewrap if your bundle changes in size.

They've lasted through Mojave summers, Minnesota winters, months of direct sunlight, cooking, freezing, and rough abuse. Highly recommended for many tasks.

These cooking bands are brilliant and avoid the need for messy twine(which I can't use anymire anyway cos I have arthritis in my hands). They can be used for trussing poultry, holding together asparagus spears and whenever you need to tie something when cooking. Can be used on roasts or in boiling water.Just rinse in warm water and re-use. Pity they are so hard to get hold of in the UK, these came from America!.Margaret Mac

I have been using the same set of these for about 4 yrs now and they still look like new. So much better than twine, i never used my rotisserie becouse of the twine/chicken tying thing. I found these and now i rotisserie at least once a week. My husband cut some of my bands so make sure everyone knows that they are re-usable. I just put'em in the silverware holder in the dishwasher and all clean. Highly recomend.....
