This review is from: Architects and Builders in North Carolina: A History of the Practice of Building (Hardcover)
Bisher knows the practice of 19th century building better than anyone--the legal issues, construction, the impact of new methods of manufacturing and distribution, use of plan books, contractors (undertakers), slaves, and the impact of exposure to Northern architecture, especially Philadelphia. Exceptionally useful even if your interest lies outside North Carolina, as mine does.

The ordering process and shipping were excellent. However, I ordered it for a specific item of information and it was not worth the price.
