5.0 out of 5 stars A brilliant science fiction mystery novel!, August 19, 1998
By A Customer
Architects of Hyperspace is a well-written, engrossing story about a group of space travelers who come across an abandoned planet made up of concentric rings. Dr. McDonough's humor and knowledge of space (he's spokesman for SETI and The Planetary Society) combine to make this an exciting and enjoyable adventure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Red Dwarf's slightly smarter brother, August 27, 2004
By
This review is from: The Architects of Hyperspace (Paperback)
It's a wonderful tongue in cheek story backed by great speculative science. The combination of the sometimes screwball comedy with the specifics of how hyperspace could work and the details of the time lags of space comunication, etc, made for a believable and well formed diegesis. There were times reading this book that I just had to stop to laugh. The book reminds me a great deal of Red Dwarf.

5.0 out of 5 stars Science fiction at its best., October 27, 1998
By A Customer
I have been reading science fiction for over twenty years and this ranks in my top five all-time favorites. My husband does not like science fiction but devoured this book. A swashbuckler with humor and romance -- a really great book to snuggle up with on a rainly day with the fireplace going and a great cup of tea.
