The mailbox is well constructed. For example, under the lid are rubber pads to cushion the lid when it closes. The hammered-copper look is convincing. The overall design is efficient. However, the slot and the box are small: a few bulky catalogs and thick foreign journals may fill the inside and block the slot. This is good if your mail flow is modest and you don't want an oversize box mounted on your house. I took off one star because the lock cylinder is cheap. Every day I struggle to get the thin key into the stiff, coarse lock mechanism. Every day I am reminded of the high cost of cheap.

Shopped around a long time before selecting this one. Beautiful quality and WAY better than I anything I could find at either local home improvement center. Sturdy metal; finish just as pictured. Would have given five stars, but the slot is NOT large enough for check boxes. Slot 1" wide; check boxes 2".

The mailbox was delivered well packaged and in good shape. The metal is thinner then it appears in the photo's, but the whole thing still feels like it will be solid enough to last several years in my covered vestibule. We've had it about a month and it still looks good.

We did have an issue with the lockset, however. The included key did not work the lock which was installed on the door. I opened the lock and it appeared the tumblers were set correctly, but the keys were just cut poorly. Since I needed to have the box up to replace one which had broken, I just went to Home Depot and bought a new lock for a few dollars that night. Not a huge problem, but for the money a bit more quality control would have been nice. If not for the improperly cut key, I'd have rated this higher.

Looks great, functions well. Magazines fit fine. My brother in law had recently purchased another mailbox, saw ours and quickly replaced his.

This mailbox looks just like the photo. It's good looking. But there were a few problems with it.
The top hinged lid was bent when I received it. It took some doing to straighten it out by hand to make it acceptable. I didn't dare use tools, because it's plated, and that could have left marks. The metal around the slot was also bent, but that is so thin, it was easy to straighten.
Another problem was that the lid rubbed on the house when lifted up. I ended up having to use thick plastic washers with the upper screws, putting them between the box and the house, which made the top of the mailbox stand away from the siding slightly. That let the lid lift up freely.
The slot is wide, and you can get your fingers down in pretty far, so magazines and large envelopes could easily be pulled out. I'm using it for my renters to put rent checks in, so they should drop to the bottom and be fine.

I like the design, it works well and keeps thing fairly secure. But my biggest problem is the mail slot, you could easily fit your hand in it and take someone's mail even though it is locked. So it is more a perception of your mail being secure as opposed to it actually being secure.

i flip houses and use this mailbox when i can.
its a product that's different from what can be found locally, it won't break the bank and it consistently looks good - i have used several colors and my favorite is the aged pewter.
all colors consistently get compliments.
its really great to find a product that you don't have to think about or re-shop each time.
