The mailbox looked great in the photograph, just what I was looking for. However when it arrived I was disappointed in the poor quality of the stainless steel (very thin). And the door was not aligned at the top. The item was made in China and the workmanship did not reflect the price of the item.

This is a very stylish mailbox, with enough room for magazines, etc. It also seems to be very well made, and locks, which is nice. Highly recommended.

I purchased the Metropolis Wall Mount mailbox to mount on our front gate (no roof overhead). I thought the hinged lid over the slot would help to keep rain out of the box, but I was wrong, water seems to blow right into the box from around the front door hatch causing my mail to be soaking wet when I open it up. I will look to weatherproof the door to reduce this occurance but be aware that if you install this out in the weather, your mail will get wet.

This purchase was inspired by watching several episodes of "It Takes a Thief" on the Discovery Channel. I'm unsure whether that TV series ever discussed locking mailboxes, but it made sense identity-theft-wise to get this mailbox in place of the non-lockable mailbox that we had. We installed this mailbox in our porte-cochère, and it goes well with our mid-century modern home. We also like the capacity of it: If we ever were to forget to notify the USPS prior to a short vacation, we would not worry about our vacation mail fitting securely in the mailbox. Recommended!

Fantastic! Very nice and sleek but large enough to hold numerous catalogues. Purchased another (in black) for our school's PTA after-school program. No more worries about missing checks!

It is tough to find a good, minimalistic modern mailbox!

Most mailboxes out there nowadays seem to have more than their share of faux country kitschy details that make me want to hurl.

All I want is something that is well-designed, solidly built, and gets its job done with a minimum of fuss.

While this mailbox may seem like an ideal solution at first glance, it has a number of issues that make it impossible to recommend, especially at its current price of $105.

First, the metal is flimsy, and construction quality is dodgy. Not all the seams align properly.

Second, the stainless steel finish is a fingerprint magnet that attracts rather than repels smudges and prints.

Third, the design of this mailbox does not take into account the fact that it will be, well, mounted on a wall.

There is not enough clearance for the top lid to open, once the mailbox is attached to a wall: the top rear edge of the lid will hit the wall. Could this be remedied by stacking some washers between the box and the top mounting screws to tilt the top of the box a half an inch forward or so? Probably. Do you want to fuss with a box that is so poorly designed? Probably not.

I purchased this mailbox at my local Home Depot for less than half of what it is selling here on Amazon. Even at that price, I couldn't return it fast enough.

Incidentally, the black version of this box sells for under $30 at HD. You get what you pay for.

Excellent mailbox, stylish and pretty sure will keep its beauty for years to come. Strongly recommended for any home, but especially the ones with modern architectural style

Looks great. It is waterproof and durable. The slot is big but could be slanted so no one can reach inside through it.

Nice looking mail box, but for the money, I think it should be made of a heavier grade steel.

The mailbox is a beautiful, contemporary addition to our home. It resembles a work of art at the front door. The key lock is easy to open. The satin nickel finish is easy to clean.
