We ordered the Oasis Jr. mailbox because we intend to convert our mail service from a PO Box to residential within the next 6 months. We used PO Box service for security reasons.

Now, for a one-time cost, we have a spacious mailbox that is solidly constructed to receive our mail. The lock is solid although I am sure if someone really wanted to, they could break in. I just think they would have to do it at night when nobody was looking because it would take a few minutes.

To give you an idea of the available space in this model of mailbox, I was able to put a women's size 7 shoebox through the upper hopper-style door.

The door does not have a spring, so when you pull it open all the way, it will sit open. When you partially move it from the fully-open position, it will close itself. If your mail delivery person seems incapable of shutting the mailbox doors like our delivery person, you can rig the door with a spring that will keep it from being left in the fully open position.

We used the Oasis in ground black post with this box, and it worked out great. If anyone tries to hit this thing with a ball bat OR their car, I think the mailbox will win.

Overall, this is a contemporary looking, solidly made mailbox and we are very happy with it. I would recommend it to anyone that wishes to try and secure their residential mail and do so in style.

This is a sturdy mailbox with a crisp silhouette. It stands head and shoulders above my old standard mailbox that the post-person kept complaining about. However, my complaint is that this box does not accommodate the weekly grocery store flyers and magazines that are a little too big to fall down to the floor of the box. Instead they get wedged in a diagonal position and block the rest of the mail from accumulating neatly; making the whole pile of mail difficult to wrest from the bowels of the box. It seems to me that pieces as standard and ubiquitous as flyers and magazines should be taken into account when designing a mailbox that is expressly constructed to accommodate larger pieces of mail.

Overall we are very staisfied with the mailbox.

The one complaint is the included nuts & bolts. For a product that is selling a "Secure" mailbox, I was disappointed to find it was sold with standard hex bolts. The problem with this is the box can be easily removed from the post with a simple wrench. The solution, get one way bolts or rounded top to make it tougher for a potential thief...
