We ordered the Oasis Jr. mailbox because we intend to convert our mail service from a PO Box to residential within the next 6 months. We used PO Box service for security reasons.

Now, for a one-time cost, we have a spacious mailbox that is solidly constructed to receive our mail. The lock is solid although I am sure if someone really wanted to, they could break in. I just think they would have to do it at night when nobody was looking because it would take a few minutes.

To give you an idea of the available space in this model of mailbox, I was able to put a women's size 7 shoebox through the upper hopper-style door.

The door does not have a spring, so when you pull it open all the way, it will sit open. When you partially move it from the fully-open position, it will close itself. If your mail delivery person seems incapable of shutting the mailbox doors like our delivery person, you can rig the door with a spring that will keep it from being left in the fully open position.

We used the Oasis in ground black post with this box, and it worked out great. If anyone tries to hit this thing with a ball bat OR their car, I think the mailbox will win.

Overall, this is a contemporary looking, solidly made mailbox and we are very happy with it. I would recommend it to anyone that wishes to try and secure their residential mail and do so in style.

This is a sturdy mailbox with a crisp silhouette. It stands head and shoulders above my old standard mailbox that the post-person kept complaining about. However, my complaint is that this box does not accommodate the weekly grocery store flyers and magazines that are a little too big to fall down to the floor of the box. Instead they get wedged in a diagonal position and block the rest of the mail from accumulating neatly; making the whole pile of mail difficult to wrest from the bowels of the box. It seems to me that pieces as standard and ubiquitous as flyers and magazines should be taken into account when designing a mailbox that is expressly constructed to accommodate larger pieces of mail.

Overall we are very staisfied with the mailbox.

The one complaint is the included nuts & bolts. For a product that is selling a "Secure" mailbox, I was disappointed to find it was sold with standard hex bolts. The problem with this is the box can be easily removed from the post with a simple wrench. The solution, get one way bolts or rounded top to make it tougher for a potential thief...

I installed this mailbox when my new home was built. The mail is wet anytime it rains (not just damp from the mailman placing it - there is a pool of water in the bottom of the box) And, the lock constantly freezes up.

Pros: Sturdy product, fast shipping, looks nice, decent price at Amazon. Con: After a month of use and only 2 rainstorms, screws on the front are rusting and dripping rust inside.

This is an excellent mailbox for rural delivery - my postmistress has complemented us several times.
However, the lock is a little 'off' and you have to jiggle the key in it a few times to get it to open.
That is probably why it was returned the first time. When we received it and took it out of the box it had someone else's address on it.
Too much trouble to return, we scraped off the numbers and will continue to jiggle the key.
This is why it only received 3 stars - because we received a previously used model.

I wanted an attractive yet secure locking mailbox and decided on the bronze Oasis Jr with the metal post. It was easy to cement and install and I had black reflective tape numbers made so it really looks modern and architectual standing out on the road in my rural setting. I was gone for 5 days in September and there was ample room for more mail. What a great purchase this was!

I loved this mailbox. The size is perfect to receive all mail and small packages. And the security lock is great! Before we get this mailbox we had problems with our old one that sometimes we found openned, but now we don't need to worry anymore with that. The material is very strong also. And this seller left me a good feedback because I received the product before the estimated delivery date. I checked a lot of sites at the internet and the price I paid for ($148) was a very good deal.

After searching on numerous sites for the Oasis Jr., I decided to purchase from Amazon. Ordered on a Tuesday evening thinking that it would be at least two weeks for delivery. It arrived Thursday evening, less than 48 hours from purchase.

The mailbox is of quality construction, very easy to use. Installed on a brick column Friday. Postman delivered mail and a package Saturday and noted that he was impressed with the mailbox and he would like to see more of them in use.

Definately a deterrent to mail theft, simple but functional and the price and service provided by Amazon was outstanding. This was my first experience with Amazon, will buy from them again in the future.

We're thrilled with our Oasis Jr. mailbox, purchased at Lowe's. I love the added security and the ability to go out of town without stopping mail delivery. The mailbox opening can accommodate most small packages without a problem. It is true that a person with very thin arms can reach at least partially inside the box, but our goal was to purchase a mailbox, not a bank vault.

The mailbox is very sturdy and all moving and locking parts work well. I was particularly impressed by the rubber gaskets inside both mail openings, which ensure quiet operation and also keeps the mail from getting wet. The box came with 2 keys, which is nice. The keys are coded, so I'm thinking that replacements could be ordered from Architectural Mailboxes if both keys were lost?

We purchased the matching 'Architectural Mailboxes Oasis In-ground Post' through Amazon ($69.75 plus free shipping). The Oasis Jr. aligned perfectly with the post and was a breeze to install.

I have no doubt the Oasis Jr. and post will endure many deliveries, harsh weather and any other reasonable abuse thrown it's way.
