I ordered this mailbox for it's great classic looks and sturdy construction. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that it would make my mail wet and crumpled. I live in a very rainy area, and the rain somehow always gets inside and gets all of my mail wet. Plus, the way the slot is situated, the mailperson always ends up jamming all of my mail into the slot and it gets all crushed. I was better off with my old clunky, ugly, but effiecient box. Now, even though the front of my house looks better, I have crumpled crushed wet mail.

this is a very sturdy mailbox. I bought this to protect my mail. Someone in my neighborhood stole a check from my open mailbox, washed the check, and then cashed it. Its somewhat expensive, but well worth the price. I've tried cheaper locked mailboxes in the past, but they were smaller and you could still get to the mail by sticking your fingers through the mail slot. Not so for this mailbox.

The mailbox is a good as far as its looks and it's function of having a large inbox slot, but when it rains the mail gets wet. This poses a problem of having return envelopes (to send back bill payments)adhevsive getting stuck, thus making them unusable. It also becomes a hassle when a newspaper or magazine gets wet, and becomes unreadable. Buy one with a better seal, or make sure its not exposed to the elements.

I'm very happy with this mailbox. It holds (and protects!) enough mail for a several-day vacation. The size is perfect for the front of our townhouse. One unforeseen feature: when we come home, if the lid is up, then the mail carrier must have dropped off some mail. When the lid is down, we don't need to check it.

This is the best locking mailbox for the price. The quality is fantastic, holds a lot of mail and looks great. Very easy to install. Really pleased--I can now leave town for a couple of days and my mail is secure.

I am really pleased with this mailbox. It is sturdier than I expected it to be and it will hold a good deal of mail including large/oversized magazines (the slot is large enough that large pieces do not have to be folded to insert). Keep in mind when choosing black that dust/dirt will show easily.

Who knew one could get excited over a mailbox - this is a a great one. It's large enough to hold plenty of mail (circulars included) though not out of scale mounted on the front of my house. Easy to install and with the lock and lid keeps mail safe and dry. I purchased the stainless and it looks great-- I've received numerous compliments - who usually notices a mailbox? I think it speaks to it's sleek and clean design.

i bought 2 of these, brushed stainless steel, & bronze, to use at my home ,& at my small business in a downtown area. they actually exceded my expectations! very well made, heavy duty steel, the lock is easy to use, & they are VERY good looking (in an industrial way). very happy with this purchase!

PROS:
Mailbox looks good & is built sturdy, No leaks. Lock is secure and mailbox can be mounted to wall with either 2 or fall screws for security.
Mail flap opens fully.

CONS: mailbox does not come in a left and right side open version.

BOTTOM LINE: I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS ITEM TO A FRIEND

I like this mailbox because it locks, and it has plenty of room for the mail. On the other hand, it's a bit plain looking, and it needs to be locked at all times, or the door will swing open. I can't comment on the leaking issue as mine hangs under a porch roof.
Personally, I think it should come with more than two keys.
It was quite a bit cheaper on Amazon than similar boxes at local hardware stores.
