Architecture in Europe: VI Mies Van Der Rohe, June 18, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Architecture in Europe: VI Mies van der Roh (Paperback)
An excellent overview of the current state of contemporary architecture in Europe at the turn of the century. The book represents one winning architectural project and the runners up in the Mies van der Rohe award for architecture in Europe. The book highlights beautiful glossy photos of the projects, using four pages per project. Each of the projects shown is an example of architectural quality in both materials and construction. What is lacking in the book is a commentary on the projects and details of the buildings. Rudimentary plans and some building sections are the most detail the book gives. A history (resume) of each of the represented architects is also listed. Overall this is a very solid addition to a series of books documenting this awards program.
