This is almost the Roy Wood collection that I've been waiting. It's a bit heavily tilted toward his sixties-pop sound, but still shows him at his hopping and interesting best. Double reeds, strings, and other odd sounds make it easy to hear Wood's links to ELO.
The one big weakness of this collection is an uneven mastering; brightness wanders in and out as if someone kept leaning on the equalizer in the studio. Well worth having, but I plan to check out the forthcoming boxed set as well.
