I earned a B.A. degree in psychology from UCLA, an M.A. degree in psychology and a Ph.D. in psychology from the Claremont Graduate School, Claremont, California. I am the author of a number of nonfiction psychology books with major publishers including Think Yourself Thin, The Story of Psychology, The Family Mental Health Encyclopedia, and It's OK to Be Neurotic.
I have been employed in mental hospitals twice during my career, worked with a psychological group doing psychotherapy and psychological testing, and taught at the college level for more than forty years.
