Just got it yesterday and tried it. Very good experience. So much easier than making noodle by hand. It is adjustable and has 7 thickness choices.

A nice pasta machine,

This is a good pasta machine. The price is very good. The thickness is adustable although it is not metioned in the introduction. It is not so good when the dough is very dry. But for this price, I would not complain.

You can not argue with the price on this item, and it works fine to get the job done. The rollers in the main unit are easy enough to clean. The cutting blades in the attachment are a little difficult to clean. It would be ok if you could rinse it out with water, but they do not recommend doing that. I would give it 5 stars if it were a little easier to clean after use.

For the money this thing is just the ticket! I think it's a great "starter" pasta machine. I've used it several times with great results. Beats a rolling pin and elbow grease any day!
My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the knob that sets the roller thickness doesn't seem as sturdy as possible.

pasta maker overview,

the pasta maker worked as expected with a few minor glitches.
First problem was that the clamp used to hold the maker to the table was not large enough, we had to find another clamp to hold it.the other problem was that the fine pasta slicer was very hard to clean. thank you

The knob that controls the width of the rollers broke off after about a month of use. It's made of cheap plastic and broke!
I tried to get a refund/replacement but the manufacturer did not respond to my request. You buy a cheap pasta maker, you get a cheap pasta maker. Do not purchase this piece of garbage. My wife also says its garbage. Buy a more expensive machine and get what you pay for.

Good,
This review is from: Arcosteel Hand Operated Pasta Machine (Kitchen)
I was very pleased with the item. However, it is good to know that the machine can only handle small amounts of pasta at one time, so the process is a bit time consuming.

It does its job...probably not for long! It's made from cheap material. The metal covers are thin and can get dented easily. The handle can fall off easily. The cover on the size selector dial doesn't even fit!

Works great.,
By Augie March (Chicago) - See all my reviews We use Marcella Hazan's recipe for pasta dough (she spells out what the dough is supposed to look and feel like when it's done), and it has been delicious every time. I notice too that this machine is somewhat less expensive than a few other pasta makers on Amazon, but there's no need to buy a $60 or $70 pasta maker when this one works fine. A few hints about the making of the pasta: 1. Once you buy a pasta maker, you might be tempted to simply mix your dough in a food processor, like a KitchenAid mixer. Don't do it! Better, far better, to knead it by hand if you can. It only takes a few minutes (again, I recommend Marcella's recipe; she tells you exactly what to do) and it comes out better this way, believe me. Be careful: If the dough is too wet, it will be sticky and make a mess of your pasta maker. 2. It helps to have someone assist you with guiding the dough/pasta as you crank it through the machine. When you make it you'll see what I mean. 3. Once you're ready to boil your pasta, take note: It's so light that it will cook in a fraction of the time that store-bought pasta does, so be aware! Leave it boiling in the pot too long and you'll ruin it. 4. That said, the pasta this machine makes is somewhat delicate, and if you're making a really heavy, hearty dish that requires heavy-duty noodles, this might not be the best pasta to use. (That said, the fettucine you can make with this pasta maker is PERFECT for pesto.) |
