5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Technical Parka for Gram Wienies, February 1, 2010

This review is from: Arc'teryx Alpha LT Jacket - Men's
This model, the Alpha LT may have been discontiued so this review may have limited value.

That said this is the ultimate light weight parka. I couldn't believe it was inside the mailer that showed up. 13 ounces or some silly thing. The cut is what you would expect from Arc'teryx. I have worn this jacket ice climbing several days since I bought it in december. The sleeves /shoulders are cut to allow vigorous pulling without pulling the tail out of your harness. The tail covers my butt completely. The material seems tough inspite of the light weight. The attached hood is helmet compatable and fully adjustable. It is easy to pull the small shock cords to get the fit you want. Zipped all the way up the Jacket covers my chin but not my mouth. Does not pull on my chin. I am a 40 regular. The medium fits me great. Has room for a light, down jacket underneith, but does not seem too baggy over just a shirt. This jacket is made for getting stuff done, not standing around. There are no handwarmer pockets or other unnecessary junk. 2 small Nepolean pockets and one small inside pocket are it. If you want the lightest, full coverage, cut for action, 3 layer GTX parka out there, find yourself one of these.

5.0 out of 5 stars GearFlogger says the Arc'Teryx Alpha LT jacket is Denali Approved, October 9, 2009
This review is from: Arc'teryx Alpha LT Jacket - Men's
Arc'Teryx earns a twofer: along with the Alpha SV bib comes the Alpha LT jacket, a stellar example of what good mountaineering kit should be. The LT barely nudges 13 ounces on the scale; yes, you read that right, a serious-duty waterproof, windproof shell at well under a pound. With the jacket and bib, all you need is a codpiece and you're good to hook. Full review at [...]
