I have owned a few bibs used for climbing during the past 20+ years and thought it was going to be difficult to replace my previous favorite pair made by Northface. Northface has taken a turn for the worse in my opinion since they went mainstream, the quality of their gear is just not what it use to be, while their customer service however, is outstanding. I had bought a Northface Mountain Guide jacket 15 years ago, when the goretex seperated I sent it in for a repair, Northface sent me a check for the full retail value I originally paid for it - over $400, because they no longer make the jacket. I took the money and bought the Arcteryx Alpha SV jacket simply because Arcteryx is one of only a few companies currently providing the quality and focus towards developing great climbing gear that Northface had seem to leave behind. I recently ordered this bib, and was very pleased with the quality. The fit is right on and the features are innovative and appropriate.
