A RECCO reflector may help ski patrol find you in the event of an avalanche.

I wanted a waterproof pant for snowy/wet days riding chairlifts; these pants definitely deliver (most ski pants get soaked fairly quickly); given that it's a hard shell, the pants are a little noisy.
