This review is from: Arc'teryx Venta SV Softshell Jacket - Men's (Apparel)
This jacket it killer. I purchased it for school because temperatures often reached below freezing and we went on multiple hikes and trips a year. Let me start by saying that yes, it is very expensive. Arc'Teryx is one of those higher end brands of luxury outdoor gear. However, this jacket lives up to its price and goes further. First off, the wind protection is stellar. NOTHING gets through this jacket-no water, either. I've been splashed multiple times and water rolls right off. This makes it especially good for snow sports, so I took it for skiing and it's great underneath a heavier jacket. It's not super warm, it can get cold sometimes. Usually, I'll tighten the wrist straps and zip up. If i get hot, there are underarm vents with zippers that cools off the jacket quite well. The hood is really large, but presumably it's so it fits over a helmet. It has been through three and a half years of abuse on mountains, through rivers and has endured falls and scrapes. The jacket has been very faithful and still looks relatively new. The build is fantastic. The material is strong and is capable of withstanding every element. Over all, it's an amazing jacket that's is worth a few extra dollars.
