4.0 out of 5 stars The good Omega 3's, March 18, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Arctic Cod Liver Oil (lemon) 180 softgels (Health and Beauty)
This contains only the good omega 3's that you need & none of the Omega 6 & 9 that you get through other foods. This contains SOY because the vitamin E is from refined soybean oil. Also contains small amounts of Vit. A & D.
Amounts of Omega 3's per serving:
EPA: 246 mg
DHA: 375 mg
Other Omega 3: 756 mg

Serving is 3 capsules; so this will last 60 days. I give my 10-year old 1 capsule per day. She reports no aftertaste or side effects whatsoever.

Nordic Naturals has a process to purify the oil & so no heavy metals or PCB's are in the product.

Although a bit pricey, Arctic Cod Liver Oil capsules contain the "good" things for your heart and don't have any mercury like some of the products on the market. The capsules are a little big and not overly easy to ingest, but you can chew them (I don't). I strongly recommend them.

5.0 out of 5 stars No fishy aftertaste..., October 29, 2011

I've tried A LOT of different brands of fish oil capsules and these are BY FAR the best I've ever purchased. Easy to swallow and no fishy aftertaste! I accidentally bit one open while swallowing it and the contents have a very mild lemon flavor without any hint of the strong fish oil taste or smell often associated with this type of supplement. A bit more expensive than the other brands, but well worth the cost for a supplement that has no heavy metals, nor hint of fishy flavor.

I give these to my kids because they are more cost effective than the kids version. My kids take one a day. They can suck on them and pop it in their mouths. They suck out the stuff and then spit out the outside. We have tried many other brands that none of us could finish even for the sake of not wasting them. I take 2 of them and mostly just swallow them, but sometimes I pop them in my mouth with the kids. I can't stand fish taste or smell at all. I can't taste it when I swallow them whole, but taste a little when I pop it in my mouth. It's not that bad though. This is the recommended brand of my kineseologist too!
