5.0 out of 5 stars My Water Bottle
This item is just what I was looking for. I don't have to sqeeze it to get water out of it and when I fill it 1/3 the way up and freeze the water in it and fill it up the rest of the way it will stay cool all day.
I also like the drinking spout you can get the water out easily without spilling it down the front of you.

3.0 out of 5 stars I Know why it leaks
I had awesome bottles that I've had for years. Silly me can't remember who made them and someone stole them a few days ago. I was on the hunt to find my old ones. I came across these that were similar but the reviews weren't so good. I got them anyway. The cold pack cannot be taken out it has to be left in or the lid cannot close, it will continuously turn and it will...

I had awesome bottles that I've had for years. Silly me can't remember who made them and someone stole them a few days ago. I was on the hunt to find my old ones. I came across these that were similar but the reviews weren't so good. I got them anyway. The cold pack cannot be taken out it has to be left in or the lid cannot close, it will continuously turn and it will also leak as it is not closed properly. I think an extra gasket in the lid will solve the problem. I know this is a hassle but if you are looking for something specific......... I am.

3.0 out of 5 stars Arctic Zone .5 gal thermos, June 4, 2009
This review is from: Arctic Zone 1/2 Gallon IceCOLD Hydration Jug (Sports)

This is my second purchase of the item. I loved my first one and used it everyday for 10 years. The thermos does stay cold for up to 8 hours with half of the space as ice; the other half liquid but not in a closed car in the heat. The lid started to leak and the shoulder strap was ripping at the seams so I decided to purchase a new one. The new one isn't as good as the old. The lid keeps turning around and around. The pour spout doesn't work as well either. It's very slow to pour out a glass of liquid. The original one was in royal blue not silver and didn't get as dirty. The outside cover of thermos is washable. I washed my original one 2 or 3 times a year.

I bought this jug years ago at Wal-Mart and have used it daily since. I play the drums and used it as the water jug at my feet to hydrate while playing shows. I now have it next to my living room chair and use it as my regular water supply. Perfect. The small water bottles don't carry enough water for me and the nylon, rip-stop cover and carrying strap makes it easy to transport. It can be removed for washing. Your hand fits in the jug opening to wash completely. I just came to Amazon to buy one for my husband.

2.0 out of 5 stars BROKEN INSERT AND LEAKS, January 27, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Arctic Zone 1/2 Gallon IceCOLD Hydration Jug (Sports)
I have purchased this product before. I require a means for having (ice) cold water with me during the day. The ARTIC ZONE 1/2 GALLON "ICE COLD" HYDRATION JUG serves this purpose, in most cases. Unfortunately, the plastic "INSERT" which is filled with water and put in the freezer to freeze, so the water maintains its level of coldness as long as possible, has a tendency to break.

Also, if the insert does not break and is in the frozen state when inserting it into the ice and water inside the Hydration Jug, when the water inside the "insert" becomes unfrozen, it affects the "tightness" between the outside top of the hydration jug and the "insert" and then the unit has a tendency to leak.

I have not found any other similar type hydration jug which can at least allow the water to maintain a level of coldness as long as the "insert" does not break.

1.0 out of 5 stars It leaks, January 18, 2011

This item is a bit fatter than their previous 1/2 gallon jug which I bought a couple of years ago and have been unable to find. Aside from that, I thought I was going to like it, until it began leaking on me. No matter how I tightened the cap, and yes, the ice stick was installed, it would leak. I would tilt it back to take a drink, and water would come out of the mouth piece and dribble on my shirt. This started from day 1. I sent it back and my hunt for another 1/2 gallon jug in that shape will resume.

2.0 out of 5 stars Great for keeping beverages cold!, August 25, 2010

This cooler is GREAT for keeping beverages cold! The downside is the cap, it is very poorly made and cannot be tightened after the second or third use. The plastic threads on the cap and jug are so thin that they strip after a couple of uses. I am very dissapointed in this product, and I can no longer use it!

1.0 out of 5 stars Frozen Insert Shatters If Dropped, August 5, 2010

This review is from: Arctic Zone 1/2 Gallon IceCOLD Hydration Jug (Sports)
I was looking for a smallish, easy to carry water jug and this appeared to fit the bill. Unfortunately, it leaks without the insert which shattered when it fell out of the freezer. A gasket should fix the leak but until I find one that fits, I will have a leaky, drippy water jug.

Overall, I like this Jug. It does a pretty good job keeping things cold. I have had some problems with the cap not staying on tight. Sometimes it works and sometimes not. Why I don't know.
