Just installed this...looks good, but NO weight in the base and locking is "iffy" at best so it's vulnerable to tipping! Also, the pump is VERY sensitive to clogging! And if the pump is clogged, there's no spray! No spray = no sound = why bother? The directions even recommend using distilled water (HUH????), yet this is supposedly for use outdoors. Had the recommendation been available for review, I would NOT have purchased this fountain. It is probably a good selection for indoor use, but that's not what I bought it for. I say again...I'm seriously UNDERWHELMED and feel like I'm the victim of a complete lack of truth in advertising!

Note for Amazon and the vendor....include in the online info that this is for indoor use only and that it requires distilled water!

in three days paint started chipping off the plastic.
was just going to paint it for the price and keep it.
but it started to bubble the water out instead of spraying!
returned it.

I purchased this fountain and received it on 4/22/10, which was actually really great shipping time. But that's the only positive thing I can say about this.

While I was unpacking I noticed that the connector and the hose were both missing. I figured no big deal, I ran to Lowe's and purchased the two things i needed for under $5. I put them on and noticed no matter what I did I could not get the top to close.

When I went to attached the hose and connector I also noticed that the pump was crack at the connector piece which made most of the water being pumped go out the side of the pump and not up into the sprayer.

So I contacted Amazon and they asked me ship it back. (I have nothing against Amazon as they are not the ones that made it. In fact they were even willing to pay the return shipping.) This thing was causing me more problems than it was even worth.

Since I no longer had the box and it would take more time to find a box and pack it up, I figured I'd cut my losses and just purchase a solar pump to use with it. I did in fact find a perfect one at Harbor Freight for just $20 to be used with it.

After finally getting it set up in my garden, it was very nice and I was able to enjoy it for a few hours. So did the birds, as I saw 2 different birds fly down and sit on it.

I went to turn it off for the day and saw the birds had left there mark, haha. I cleaned it off and saw that the paint was coming off underneath where the birds had done their business.

So now I stripped the paint off and today I will be painting it. I also noticed that the bottom of the top base part is cracked while i was stripping the paint.

I hope after this I'll be able to use and enjoy this.

Also, this is very lightweight as other people have mentioned so I'll still need to add some weight to the inside.

I do not recommend anyone to purchase this fountain!

I have always wanted to have an outdoor fountain. Got online one day and saw this fountain for 23.00 on amazon.... could not believe my eyes so i ordered it right away....it is a very nice fountain and yes the foundation is a little shaky but nothing that can't be fixed...not shaky enough though for it to fall off the base or whatever... cant wait for summer so I can use it outside.... I give this fountain a B....

I set up the fountain, yesterday and put it outside. It rained today. I looked outside my front window to admire the fountain, and was horrified to see that much of the paint on the fountain had "washed" away! It isn't going to be easy to disassemble, repack and return the item...but I'm seriously thinking about it. I would never purchase a fountain from this company, again.

I ordered it on a gamble since others have said they received it without a hose. I figure if that happened I'd just buy a piece of clear hose. But it also was missing the spray nozzle in the center of the top plate - so the fountain is useless.


When I went to try again the price rose from $28 to $32 overnight (probably because of my order). But I called amazon and they are shipping one out overnight at no cost and will pick up this defective fountain at the same time.

I did call the company and got NO RESPONSE!!!!!

I have yet to use the fountain, as the little hose piece is missing and it doesn't pay to set it out to use with parts missing. I have not had time to look for a hose piece. I don't know if it's worth writing to the manufacturer, as they would probably not send the part that's missing. I see by other letters, I'm not the only one with a fountain that came minus parts required to make it work. Evidently, the reason the fountain was so reasonably priced is that it's second quality and not saleable in a regular outlet, so they use Amazon.

Rather lightweight, (you might want to fill the pedestal with sand), but nice looking and will look nice in the garden.

I have owned this model for a looong time, even leaving it out during the winter, not plugged in! The company is very helpful with questions and enjoy receiving comments. I am now ordering another one for my friends as a wedding gift.

If you read in the description you would have seen that it says the fountain comes with a 120 volt UL pump w/a 6 ft cord.
