Who needs a love that only brings hurt, sadness, pain and sorrow? Where are the joy, excitement, smiles, giggles, fun and love? Not in ARE YOU SATISFIED, YET? by M. Bridges.

Betty Jean , Ezekiel Johnson, (Zeke) and Carla are running on the same track, in the same lane, at the same speed with no reguards to any one but thenselves. Each one of them is so concerned about what they want, who hurt them, and I can not believe he or she did that to me.

Not being a selfish person, I could garner no love, repect , nor feelings of sympathy for the main characters. At one point I was so disgusted with Carla, Betty Jean and Zeke, I put the book down. The secondary characters Sheila and Thomas were the strong ones who showed feelings for others and live in th real world.

A superbly written book ARE YOU SATISFIED, YET is the first in a series of books about Betty Jean. I hope in the return of Betty Jean in GETTING UP AND GETTING ON, Betty Jean becomes a character that can be identified with.

Are You Satisfied Yet, is the story of Betty Jean Carlson and Ezekiel Zeke Johnson.

Betty Jean is a beautiful woman inside and out and has it going on in her professional life but her personal life is a straight up MESS! She loves Ezekiel and believes her love will eventually make him change his lying, cheating, ways.
Ezekiel is very handsome with an ego and nerve the size of Texas. He is also doing well in his profession. Actually the only thing he's not doing well in is...FIDELITY.

After almost six years of living together Betty Jean is still of the belief that a commitment from him and marriage is still possible. Unfortunately someone forgot to tell that to Ezekiel!

While Betty Jean knows all about his continued unfaithfulness with other women it's when Carla Jeffries enters the picture and stays there, that she finally begins to question, is love really enough. And at what cost...her self respect, peace of mind?

M Bridges debut novel, Are You Satisfied Yet, is a must read.
There are twists and turns that will have you unable to put this book down until you reach the last page. And even then you'll be clamoring for more.
The characters are so three-dimensional that by the time you finish reading their story you will swear you know them...FOR REAL.

I've had the privilege of reading book two in the Betty Jean series, Getting up and Getting on, and can't wait for the rest of the world to read it. It's fantastic and going to blow your minds!

MBridges will soon release ARE YOU SATISFIED YET?, the first novel in a series of books revolving around the lead character Betty Jean. A very prolific writer, having already penned several of the follow-up books, MBridges has impressed me with not only her writing, but with the vision for her work. She has a detailed plan for this series, as well as other books crossing into various genres, including a spy thriller, in the works. With her first offering to the literary world, she presents Betty Jean, a character tired of her life; not in actually living, but in how she's living it.

Ezekiel Johnson has issues. He "loves" Betty Jean and can't imagine his life without her, yet after several years of being involved, he still can't totally commit and stop messing around with other women. Betty Jean is intelligent and has her professional life under control, yet she can't seem to get it together with her personal life. She loves Zeke and takes him back repetitively, in hopes that he'll change, commit to her, and propose. She knows about the other women, but feels he'll be ready any day to make her the only one. Carla is the main woman Zeke is with, and she knows she has him caught up in the pleasures she can provide. She also knows that he's not leaving Betty Jean. This cast of characters will definitely keep tongues wagging as they each ask themselves if they're satisfied, and if not, are they willing to make changes in their lives -- within themselves and in their relationships.

While I admit my tolerance level is a lot lower than the characters in this book, I cheered them on, talked to them, slapped them around a little bit and even empathized with them. We all know love and relationships are definitely hard work, but they shouldn't be full of lies, pain, or sorrow. ARE YOU SATISFIED YET is an eye-opening, soul-searching journey of how one can become burdened by the betrayals of life and love. MBridges takes a deep look into what a person goes through when they've simply had enough. I loved my journey with Betty Jean and company and look forward to the next in the series.

"Are You Satisfied Yet" held my interest from the first few pages. I
read the book in one day. I could feel BJ's pain and anguish. The story
and characters were well developed and believable. I experienced a range
of emotions as the lives of BJ, Zeke, Carla and Sheila unfolded. I
liked M. Bridges' writing style - she let you know what the characters were thinking/feeling without them saying it. I look forward to reading the Betty Jean Titles series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Voted Best Romance Fiction 2005, May 6, 2006
This review is from: Are You Satisfied, Yet? (A Betty Jean Title) (Paperback)
This was a great story. I was pulled right into this tangled web of love and betrayal. I liked Betty Jean and could easily feel her drama and pain with Zeke. Zeke was seriously charming.I wanted so much to hate on the other woman, Carla but I couldn't. Bridges makes you feel, care for and understand each character. This was a well developed novel that had me turning the pages. The characters were layered. I can't wait to read the next novel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Satisfaction Guaranteed... Well, almost...., April 27, 2006

I picked up this book with reservations - another man bashing book, I thought, but I was SO WRONG.

Are you satisfied, yet? is not a book about "that man" its about "that woman" - Betty Jean Carlson, specifically. She's a woman torn. Her heart wants what it wants and it wants Ezekiel Johnson. Ezekiel wants Betty Jean, but he also wants every other woman he can get his hands on. Betty Jean remains number one for him, but there is a long line of women behind her.

Standing at the head of that line is Carla Jeffries. Carla and Ezekiel have a little "something-something" going on, but it can't replace or erase her feelings for Thomas, the father of her child who made a huge mistake that she can't forgive him for. Thomas can't forgive himself either, he also can't stop loving Carla and takes drastic steps to free himself when he believes all hope of getting her back is gone.

Each characters personal "ending" was superbly written. Betty Jean's, Carla's, Ezekiel's, Thomas's...Nothing turned out the way I thought it would! But it all turned out great!

This book is definitely NOT about man bashing. Now that I think about it, its not about "that woman" either, its about love and being satisfied with the choices we make while pursuing it. Its about letting it go when we have to and holding on tight when we don't. It is by no means the "typical" story.

MBridges has managed to spin an intricate web around her characters, making them real - human - and I was pulled in, unable to put the book down until the last page. Then surprise! The first chapter of the second book in this series, Getting up and Getting on.

I'm satisfied - or maybe not - I'm hungry for the next book! Are you satisfied, yet? is a must read. MBridges is an excellent author with a unique writing style. I'm hooked. A fan for life!

4.0 out of 5 stars Can't Get No Satisfaction, July 26, 2005
This review is from: Are You Satisfied, Yet? (A Betty Jean Title) (Paperback)
Satisfaction. Something that everyone wants, but not all know how to achieve it. Author MBridges delves into the topic of satisfaction in the novel Are You Satisfied Yet? Betty Jean Carlson thought that she was satisfied in her six-year relationship with Ezekiel "Zeke" Johnson. They comfortably shared a home and their lives, and marriage seemed inevitable. Betty Jean also felt secure that Zeke had finished his philandering. That is until she finds out about Carla, the single mom that Zeke is having an intimate affair with. Betty Jean must decide exactly what she is willing to put up with, what makes her happy, and what decisions she needs to make to achieve her ultimate satisfaction.

Told in the voices of Betty Jean, Zeke, and Carla, Are You Satisfied Yet? shows the intricate workings of a love triangle. I especially liked the alternating voices because the reader was privy to information that the characters did not know. This style also allowed for the characters to be well developed. The story line had moments when it was filled with drama, but overall the language of the book kept it from being over the top. I would have liked more information on the history of Betty Jean and Zeke, but seeing that this is the first novel in a series, I hope that the information will be revealed in later works. I would definitely recommend Are You Satisfied Yet? as it is an intelligent, intriguing read. I look forward to the subsequent books that continue Betty Jean's story.
