Accountability to God,
By Skyy Sutton "skyy777" (Fairfax VA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Are Seventh-Day Adventists False Prophets? (Paperback)
Christians are accountable to our Heavenly Father, to Jesus Christ the Savior, and to the Holy Spirit. I would advise Christians to pray before taking upon themselves to slam *any* Christian denomination. Mr. Slattery may have had some negative experiences with individual SDAs, and that may have been his catalyst for writing such a book. The Adventist church promotes justification by faith in Jesus Christ our LORD and Savior. Ellen White encouraged all Christians to believe in *only* the Bible, and her writings were never meant to be equal to or take the place of the Holy Bible. I choose to pray for Mr. Slattery, and others who have not taken the time to find out what the SDA church stands for before making slanderous remarks. There is no secrecy involved in our worship services, and visitors are always welcome and free to ask any questions about our beliefs. Slamming Seventh-day Adventists because of our belief that the seventh-day Sabbath is the Lord's Day is not new; many of the Jewish people and early Christians were also persecuted for their beliefs, and often sought out safe havens where they could worship freely. I find it interesting that many Christians who observe Sunday, the first day of the week, have no problem with the other nine Commandments. I encourage interested parties to pray, read the Holy Bible, and ask God to reveal to them the truth about our church.

NOT SO FAST! I AM A 7TH DAY ADVENTIST!!!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Are Seventh-Day Adventists False Prophets? (Paperback)
I was born and raised in the Seventh-Day Adventist church, and I can say with authority that the church doesn't claim to be a prophet. Anyone who says it does gets us confused with the "Millerite movement" who tried to predict the end of the world in 1844. NEWS FLASH !!! The Seventh day adventist church was not organized into a denomination untill the early 1860's. DO THE MATH!
ALSO, Ellen White is not the final authority. The Bible is. Mrs. White, herself, clearly says "God wants us to go to the Bible." She is only an authority when she agrees with the scripture, and that's that. To be honest, I NEVER GO TO ELLEN WHITE FOR SPIRITUAL GUIDENCE OR ANYTHING ELSE. I'm good with my Bible. We also beleive that we should keep the seventh day, Saturday, holy, that we don't have to keep the law to be saved. If you ask me what saves us, my answer will always be "GOD"S UNMERITED GRACE!" There are a few nut in the church who would disagree, but our official beleife is that grace through faith is what saves us in Jesus Christ, and not by keeping the law. We also beleive in the trinity, Christ's vigin birth, the personality of the Holy Spirit, and most of the traditional Christian teachings. So don't tell me we are not Christians, we are. For a better non-Adventist concept of what we beleive, I would like to recommend Dr. Walter Martin's book which is called "The Kingdom of the Cults." I know the title doesn't sound so good, but when you read the chapter about us, you will find that the author only put the chapter in there to demenstrate that we are not a cult, but a Christian denomination.

A lot of lies,
By Bohemianvegan "Bohemian Vegan" (Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Are Seventh-Day Adventists False Prophets? (Paperback)
I have been a Seventh-day Adventist for over twenty years and I am appalled that someone would write such a disturbing and foolish book.First, I would like to say that Seventh-day Adventist do NOT believe in righteousness by works. Jesus paid the price for our sins, there is no reason to work for our salvation. It is true that many Adventists may follow a vegetarian diet, may not wear jewelry, etc but that does not mean they think they are working their way into Heaven. All those things are just ways they try to be righteous. Secondly, the church does not think that Ellen White is the final authority on doctrine. She herself said to look to the Bible for the final authority and that she is a "lesser light" than the Bible. So, this book does not expose a cult, it exposes that the author is a liar. And 99.999% of Adventist do NOT think they are prophets.
