The "Through the Wormhole" series does a great job bringing some of the more esoteric areas of science to the general public. The science content is presented well, without losing the spirit of excitement that drives the researchers. In fact, including snippets of the actual work, and hearing from the actual people on the forefront of discovery, makes this series truly wonderful. Some folks may argue that the science gets a bit diluted, and the "gee whiz" element is stressed too much. Sorry, guys and gals! As a practicing scientist myself, I long ago learned that only a tiny fraction of the people in this world we share want to know everything in the wonky detail that our profession requires, and that we have learned to live with and to love. The only road to good communication of our own joys and insights is, in fact, to emphasize our most human feelings, which we do share with the rest of the world.

"Through the Wormhole" does science communication very well, indeed.

This is not going to suit everyone, but if you like science shows in general, you'll probably get a kick out of it and you'll learn a lot. Hey, it's a TV show, not a documentary of someone's life work. My kids who watch most science films with great interest, got bored pretty quick. Anyway, give it a shot. You'll learn a few things.

This covers fascinating questions, biological (e.g. predation), physical, chemical, and theoretical; it also shows you how scientists think about problems, and how they use their imagination, as well as powers of observation, to propose answers. Illustrated with clever visuals of possible aliens--I would have liked more of those. Morgan Freeman is always great, and the interviews with scientists were suprising and fun!

This series is brilliant. The host Morgan Freeman's love of the subject really helps to create interest. As quoted Einstein said "that religion without science is blind, and science without religion is lame". "Through The Wormhole" neatly blends both disiplines in a seamless synthesis.

Delve into Morgan Freeman's Wormhole in this series that explores the dark regions of unanswered questions. Tightly edited, this cheeky exploration really satisfies, like a fine dark chocolate. The production doesn't fudge a thing as it probes into the recesses of speculation. It doesn't turn a blind eye to controversy but not in a simple way that presents everything as either white or black but more of an in-between brown that comes off without the stink of failure. I highly recommend Morgan Freeman's Wormhole. I really got into it. You'll enjoy it so much you'll be coming on back!

I could sit for hours just to listen to Morgan Freeman. Season 2 is every bit as good as Season 1. I can watch it with wonder and awe for hours. I highly recommend both seasons. Freeman almost seems to be speaking for the Universe. Just fantastic!

I recommend this DVD to everyone who loves the mysteries of the universe.
Morgan Freeman will take you on a journey of fascinating discoveries and rise questions such as "Is there life after death?" and "Is there a sixth sense?"
