Is This Book Fit To Be Called "Radical"?,
By caroline (Germany) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Are You Fit to Love?: A Radically Different Approach to Successful Relationships (Paperback)
This book is full of generalities and cliches. The chapters are filled with trite and cutesy sayings. The content is simply a re-hash of information that can be found in any woman's magazine. One looks in vain for a "radical" or even original approach in this book.

AN ENLIGHTENED APPROACH TO LOVE,
By Steve Nakamoto "The Friendly Voice of the... (Huntington Beach, California USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Are You Fit to Love?: A Radically Different Approach to Successful Relationships (Paperback)
Are You Fit To Love? is an enlightened approach to loving relationships based on a foundation of mutual respect, moral responsibility, and authenticity. This is the perfect attitude (beliefs) adjustment for those men and women who are struggling in their love lives with issues around resentment, uncertainty, control, commitment, frustration, and the "What's in it for me attitude" that is so prevalent today.
As an online relationship advisor (Host of iVillage.com's Ask Mr. Answer Man discussion board), I receive several questions a day from concerned women about their love lives. And I concur with author, Allie Ochs, that we are "human beings first, men or women second and need to treat each other as equals." While so many women view our dating process as some sort of "battle of the sexes" it is refreshing to know that there are books like this which make a big point of finding long-term success through character (honesty, responsibility, integrity, determination) rather than by dating "rules" or clever mind-game strategies.
There is timeless wisdom in this book (excellent chapter summaries with bullet points to remember) which makes it a valuable addition to any woman's personal development and relationship library. With this book you can get the love thing straight for once and for all.

This Book should have been written a long time ago,

This review is from: Are You Fit to Love?: A Radically Different Approach to Successful Relationships (Paperback)
This book is more than I expected. It made me laugh, made me cry and challenged me in a very though-provoking way like no other book. Now that I understand and embrace the 3 universal principles of being fit to love, I can see why my relationships, be they romantic or otherwise, always left much to be desired. This book has taught me to turn all my relationships around and made me understand that we have to become better people for each other. This is timeless and radical advice and I only wish I could have had this advice sooner. We all need this book!

A self-help guide for singles and couples alike,
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Are You Fit to Love?: A Radically Different Approach to Successful Relationships (Paperback)
Are You Fit To Love: A Radically Different Approach To Successful Relationships is a self-help guide for singles and couples alike. The author dares to break common conventions when addressing such real problems as how to avoid getting hurt (too much), how to overcome the fear of abandonment, learning the foible of comparing relationships, why so many relationships don't last, the issues of sex versus making love, and more. A no-nonsense, grounded-in-reality book that dares to tackle and pick apart matters that many individuals are unwilling to face in themselves.

A Real Winner!,
By Almuth Mueller (Indianapolis, IN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Are You Fit to Love?: A Radically Different Approach to Successful Relationships (Paperback)
A good book is one that makes the reader think outside the box. Are you Fit to Love? did this for me. In my books I teach fitness, health, self-improvement and wealth which are really about pursuing a "feeling" and reaching a point where you feel good about yourself. That is what I got from your book also. Even a good relationship needs a "tune up" from time to time. I found your book to be a good smart preventive "maintenance" tool. Nice job! Allie, you have a winner here!"(...)

This review is from: Are You Fit to Love?: A Radically Different Approach to Successful Relationships (Paperback)
My lady friend of long standing kept leaving this book in conspicious places. I took the hint and read it thinking it another male indictment. Turns out to be a well-balanced objective and very different assessment of what is wrong with so many relationships and to make them right. Bottom line: we both learned more from Are You Fit To Love than from any other book we read. We can now truly walk in each other's shoes.
