5.0 out of 5 stars High 5
Loved the book. The beignning had me confused with all the goings on, but at the same time worked well with my ADD! I got so excited when all the things started to make sense and the story came together. You can't help but love the characters. The more I read, the more everthing came together. Would love to read more with these characters! Hope Laura writes more!

2.0 out of 5 stars What a wild imagination!
Laura has certainly come through with her first novel. She has quite the imagination and the wording to carry us through this adventure in her life. Gotta love the dumb waiter method of transport.
I couldn't wait to read the end to see who the "main character" really was.
Her insertion of people and animals from real life make the book that much more...

5.0 out of 5 stars Delightfully Clever and Funny!, April 20, 2009
This review is from: Are You Gonna Eat That Banana?: An Improbable Tale (Paperback)
Kudos to Laura Hinds for her book debut! "Are You Gonna Eat That Banana?" is a wonderful, fun read, complete with a cast of quirky, lovable characters. Once I started reading this book, I was unable to put it down. Ms. Hinds combines just the right amount of imagination and whimsy along with her genuine sense of humor, which prevails throughout the book. A perfect book for all seasons, whether you take it to the beach with you in the summer or curl up with it in front of the fireplace in the winter! I highly recommend "Are You Gonna Eat That Banana?" and am eagerly awaiting the sequel!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Real LOL Read!, March 2, 2009
This review is from: Are You Gonna Eat That Banana?: An Improbable Tale (Paperback)
Laura Hinds first book is "ripe" (pun intended) with fanciful, endearing characters that will have you wishing that they were your neighbors and friends.
From odd methods of transport to magical gnomes to eerily intelligent household pets, this story will take your imagination to some pretty fun places! I was hooked on page one and loved how the main character maintained her sense of humor throughout some fairly zany adventures. Very American Bridget Jones. I was laughing out loud throughout most of the book.
Don't be surprised if you have the urge to buy some bananas! Truly tasty and delighful!

5.0 out of 5 stars Whimsical Wonderland, March 1, 2009
This review is from: Are You Gonna Eat That Banana?: An Improbable Tale (Paperback)
What a fun and funny book! Once you start reading, you'll start laughing out loud. Each of these imaginiary characters take on real life meaning for readers even in the most "improbable" of situations. A writer can try to be funny and fail, or they can set out not trying at all and come up with some of the wittiest lines in recent memory. It is a short and fast enough read that I for one already can't wait for a sequel.

In her debut novel, Ms Hinds creates a witty world of wild characters. Her story centers on a woman that has mysteriously lost her memory. You will probably be hungry after reading; many food references are sprinkled throughout the book! Try to solve the mystery of the moving gnomes and take a journey into the imagination...
