Area 51-The Roswell Incident is highly recommended., February 1, 2000
This review is from: Area 51: Roswell Incident (Audio CD)
This 2 disc set of space-progressive-electronic music is highly recommended and worth the money. All songs are good, interesting works of the space music genre and include groups Hawkwind and Guru Guru from 1971, Amon Duul II from 1973 all the way up to Chrome, Gong and Kraftwelt from 1997. This set does not include any of the poorly recorded, live songs from bands that don't even play "space music" that are on some of the other compilations such as "Acid Space". (I'll review that one later.) This compilation also includes a booklet listing all the items available on Cleopatra, Purple Pyramid, and Hypnotic Records (and others). So if you like that acid-space music you will definitely enjoy these CD's!

'Area 51: The Roswell Incident' - Various Artists (Cleopatra), July 29, 2007
This review is from: Area 51: Roswell Incident (Audio CD)
Superbly assembled 2-CD, 24 track collection of key songs from space, krautrock and ambient titles pulled from Cleopatra's extensive catalog. Sounds JUST as great as it did many moons ago when it first came out. I do, remember however that several stores weren't interested in carrying this title. Go figure. 'Area 51' is worthy of many, many spins on my CD player in the years to come. With outstanding tunes by the likes of Pressurehed, Guru Guru, Brainticket, Surface 10, Melting Euphoria, Chrome, Amon Dull II, Nik Turner, the Anubian Lights and many others, 'Area 51' is an absolute must-have.
