Book Description

September 1, 2001
Dreams have long been regarded as a powerful tool for unlocking the secrets of the subconscious. However, most dream interpretation books rely on traditional symbols and definitions cribbed from ancient mythology that often have little relevance to modern society. No ordinary dream dictionary, Ariadne's Book of Dreams is a compendium of symbols ranging from ancient times to today. This guide to the subconscious world allows for specific application by dividing dreams into three arenas, representing relationships to the physical, emotional, and metaphysical realms of life. It incorporates contemporary objects and issues including computers, Madonna, and chow mein with traditional and mythological imagery, offering the reader a fuller more accessible scope to the meaning of dreams. Complete with an alphabetical listing of symbols and their possible meanings, as well as techniques for dream recall and evaluation this book is a comprehensive resource for dream interpretation in the new millenium.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Dream Book, October 18, 2001
By

This review is from: Ariadne's Book of Dreams: A Dictionary of Ancient and Contemporary Symbols (Paperback)
I was amazed to look through this book and see that there was an interpretation for my dream about Keanu Reeves. I just couldn't believe it. It was fairly accurate as well. Most of the other entries in this book say nothing different than my other dream interpretation books; however, Ariadne's book is useful for its interpretation of contemporary symbols. This aspect makes the book truly unique. I just had to buy it for that one reason.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, a Dream book I can relate to, June 13, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Ariadne's Book of Dreams: A Dictionary of Ancient and Contemporary Symbols (Paperback)
I found a treasure of wisdom and information in this book. What I learned will really help me out in the future. I only wish a book like this had been written years ago, it's wisdom would have helped me out tremendously, but alas, I can refer to it from now on. It is the first dream book that ever "hit home" with me and speak the truth, and I have read many, many dream books that seemed to miss the mark somehow. This book was written from the heart and that spoke volumes to me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow! Enlightening and Accurate, January 16, 2002
This review is from: Ariadne's Book of Dreams: A Dictionary of Ancient and Contemporary Symbols (Paperback)
Illuminating book full of meaningful real dream examples from teens, elders and students of dream work. Intelligent, heartfull, and easy to understand, this book is uniquely different. The author shares some of her personal enlightening experiences with dreams and gives sound spiritual advice on dream related topics. I found the symbol definitions more current and accurate than any other dream book I have ever read. I looked up everything from Madonna to Gatoraid and found them within this new comprehensive dream dictionary. Full of meaningful interpretations and good advice for the novice as well as the expert in my opinion. As a dream expert myself I was impressed with how the author talks about using the definitions to interpret the synchronicities in your waking life as well as, applying them to night dreams. A perfect dream guide for spiritual enlightenment!
