4.0 out of 5 stars Good boot, July 5, 2008
Great boot, but for the Money I think Xelement Brand Motorcycle Boots are better. Overall this had all the things one needs in a biker boot but my Xelement boots is the same if not better with half the price.

Very nice, well constructed boots for motorcycle riding. I highly recommend as they are comfortable (for boots) and offer great protection.

4.0 out of 5 stars Ariat® Men's Smolder H2O, August 27, 2008

I ride a sportbike and didn't think this type of boots would be best choice for me. But I will be switching over to a cruiser next year and didn't really want to spend another $140 for another pair of boots when that happens.

Pros:
Boots are very comfortable fit. Size appears to run 1/2 size smaller so if you wear 9 like me, order 9.5.
Provides good ankle protection without being too tight.
The material appears to be quality construction and warrants the price shown.
If I had a cruiser, the metal pieces inserted would come in handy.

Cons:
I have tough time shifting with these like I do with regular shoes. So I have to use the protruding sole layer on the side to shift up as I have hard time getting the boot to go under it on my bike (ZX-6R).
There is a large print that says "WATERPROOF" on the side and that makes the boots appear rather cheap.

Overall, I like the boots. I have rubbed off the "WATERPROOF" marking on the side and treated the leather and the strap that goes across the boots can be functional but I don't tighten it too much. I chose this over the Harley Davidson boots, because I found it to be more comfortable, but you will need to try on all of them to know for sure. And I don't recommend this for sportbike riders but this is better than the Power Ranger boots if you are going to work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Bike Boot I've ever worn, January 10, 2012
I've owned Harley Davidson boots (made by Wolverine usually) and Double H boots (part of a huge boot company, whose other brand I wear for work), and this is simply the best traditional style motorcycle boot I've ever put on. First - it's waterproof - so if I get caught in a small rain storm, no worries about prolonged soggy feet - I also treat the boots with Doc Bailey's to protect the leather itself. Second - the side zip, it just is that much easier putting putting them on and off and on top of it, if it's a hot day, unzip them while you relax and get a little extra air down there. Finally - and most important - they're too damn comfortable. This is the most comfortable motorcycle boot I've ever walked around in. If you ever ride to events or rallies, or just do a long day of riding, the last thing you want is to walk around uncomfortably. Additionally, it takes more of the vibration out of your feet. My wife recommended these to me when we were down in North Carolina and she said they were the gold standard for horseback riding - I can see why - so I got them, and will never go back to another brand. I wish they made police/ems duty boots!
