These boots were very comfortable out-of-the box, and are even more comfy 1 month later. The build quality is outstanding and rugged, yet still the leather is soft. It has rained on my commute, and they have kept my feet dry. The temperature has varied from 45 degrees to 100 degrees, and they keep my feet warm in the cool stuff, but also don't seem to overheat in the hot stuff. I am very glad I took a chance on these boots. I had been to the local HD dealer trying on boots and was getting discouraged about fit, comfort and durability in a motorcycle boot. Try Ariat from Amazon vendor Rodeo Beach - they are great to work with and answered all emails and phone calls with great customer support.
I have owned two pair of these and had I known they were going to discontinue them I would have bought multiple pairs. The boots last a long time and are perfect in every single way. If anyone runs across these in an 8 or 8.5 please let me know by reply to this review.
The Ariat Smolder boots are quite good. They give strong protection to feet and anckles, are waterproof, and have a nice look. Their cons is that they're a bit bulky and require sometime to get use to them.
