It was my first time ordering anything sized online, so I was a little hesitant, but since I like to wear heavy socks with my boots, I figured I had a little "wiggle room", so to speak I usually buy a 9 1/2, and I did the same here. They came sooner than I expected, and when I took these beauties out of the box (and they were even better looking up close and personal, than in photos) and put them on, they fit like gloves, and were so comfortable. I've been rocking them several days a week at work, where the hours are long (10-14 hrs. most days) and I'm walking around quite a bit, and I'm truly impressed with their comfort and quality. Not to mention that I get tons of compliments on them each time I wear them, often from strangers as I pass by. I've already started "window shopping" for my next pair.

"Approximately 14.25"" really meant "less than 14"". I could fit the shaft of these boots INSIDE another pair of Ariats I own. If you have even slightly larger/muscled calves, they won't fit. Beautiful boots, would have been worth every penny otherwise!
