Ariel's Favorites: Ariel And Friends Sing Their Favorite Hits From The Sea

I bought this CD having already purchased most of the Little Mermaid soundtracks available. There's only one song on this CD I didn't previously own, which is "Dance the Day Away". While I don't regret my purchase for this one above average song, more Jodi Benson biased fans wouldn't find what they are looking for in this CD. Where's the all time classic "Part of Your World"? Or "Just a Little Love"? or my personal favourite "Dreaming"?

The cover art is beautiful, and the CD includes a booklet with some hard-to-find lyrics to some of the songs from the TV series. There is also an offer for a free Ariel lithograph, but this expired early 1999 and is pretty much useless.

I would only recommend this CD for true Little Mermaid/Ariel fanatics (like myself). For those of you looking for higher quality Jodi Benson vocals, I recommend the classic Little Mermaid Original Soundtrack, "Splash Hits" or "Songs from the Sea".

Ariel is one of my favorite Disney Princesses, and I grew up watching the Little Mermaid TV show. She has such an amazing voice and I love the style of music. I already owned a lot of the songs on this CD, but there were 5 I didn't have that sounded cute and I really wanted them.

The previews really don't do the songs much justice; they are so much cuter when you can hear them all the way through! They're fun and bouncy and catchy, even relaxing, but one of the things I love most about them is how they connect and make a story. In "What's It Like to Be a Mermaid?", Ariel's just found a message in a bottle from a little girl who wonders what it likes to be a mermaid. Ariel wonders about the humans as much as the girl wonders about mermaids, so she just has to answer the letter! In "He's a Friend", Ariel is on her way to her grotto when she runs into Sebastian. He tells her to stop thinking about humans and she sings about what a trust worthy friend he is. In "My Room in the Sea", Ariel has made it to the grotto and wonders if the little girl has a special place she can go to as well. In "The Sea Kingdom", King Triton and Ariel's sisters wonder why she can't stay away from the human world and Ariel sings about how she can't help wondering about life above. And in "Scuttle Strut", Ariel gets Scuttle's "help" writing a letter to the human girl.

The songs are already stuck in my head I'm so glad I added them to my collection. I listen to them a few times every day, almost on repeat. I can't decide which one is my favorite, I love them all so much! I highly recommend this CD to any Ariel fan!

I purchased Ariel's Favorites from CBT Books, and I wasn't entirely thrilled with how they handled my purchase, but everything turned out ok. I did not receive a tracking number, and when I wrote and asked them about it they took a few days to respond and then said if I hadn't received the CD by that afternoon they would refund my money. While it was a nice offer, I was a bit peeved. Didn't they know if they'd sent my CD or not? Couldn't they at least tell me which method they had shipped it? I was not a happy camper. The CD arrived that very afternoon, and when I opened it I was in for a pleasant surprise that (somewhat) evaporated my unhappy feelings. The CD was in great mint condition and didn't smell, but what really intrigued me was the little extras that were included. Inside the booklet was a Best Buy ad clipping of the CD's release and the original receipt, complete with the CDs packaging stickers and an ad from Disney. It was really fun for me to see all those original pieces, and it made me wonder about the girl who bought it before me. Was she excited to get it? Why did she let it go? Sadly those question will never get answered, but I like to think about them anyways. Thanks to CBT Books for including those unique treasures in my order. I would most likely buy from CBT Books again, but I would also be inclined to check other sources first.

I don't have got this album, but I have listened to all the songs in it. Because many songs in this album also featured in "Songs from the Sea" and "Splash Hits". But I have to admit that the cover of this album is much more cuter than other two!
