More About the Author

Born in California but raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, Qwillia Rain embraces fully the independent spirit of the West she grew up in, even if she currently resides in North Carolina.
Qwillia has worked at a diverse mix of jobs including casino change person, bill collector, book store and video store clerk, and computer teacher to Kindergarten through 8th graders, but writing has always been part of her life.
In 2007 her first book (recently revised and self-published) Santa's Elf, was published, opening a whole new world where she can play with her characters and get paid for it.
Her curiosity and tendency to ask "what if" is sure to keep her occupied with ideas. And led her into exploring a series of short stories through one of her characters, Triss Long.
Her books can be found here on Amazon.com or through her publisher, Loose Id, LLC (www.loose-id.com)

Talk about favors! When dominant Dane Reese agrees to help his best friend's submissive, he has no idea what or who he is in for. Least of all, Ariel, a tiny elf of a woman with a chip on her shoulder the size of Mt. Everest. These unlikely adversaries clash from scene one, but I believe they protest too much and readers will as well.

Chef Ariel Valerian trusts Dane Reese about as far as she can throw him. While her sister is away finding her inner submissive, Ariel has been left to take care of the family restaurant. She can do what needs to be done without the help of Dane Reese. Ariel doesn't care how helpful Dane can be - she wants him gone. But Ariel isn't being honest - the real reason she wants him to make himself scarce is because of the way he makes her feel.

Dane Reese refuses to give in to Ariel's demands he leave. His interest in Ariel is purely physical, at first. And then his craving evolves into something more. Now all he has to do is convince Ariel that giving up her control doesn't mean she is weak - it means she is brave enough to take a chance.

Dane and Ariel clash almost instantly. But what comes across as dislike hides an underlying desire for the other. Ariel's past relationships shape how she felt about Dane, and it is up to Dane to figure out what is really going on in Ariel's brain. A task a dominant like Dane can't wait to undertake.

ARIEL'S PET shows how relationships and true love are shaped and molded. It is very erotic and has hefty doses of D/s overtones and scenes. I loved watching Ariel succumb to Dane who in turn cherished her for the woman she is.

Ms. Rain draws the reader into the story allowing nothing to take away from the heated sensuality between the hero and heroine focusing on their struggle between Dominate and submissive and which one is adapt in control. When Ariel Valerian's sister, Alayna, left for a month to be trained by Master Logan of A Master's Gift, Alayna accepted the invitation from Master Dane to take over the bookkeeping until she returned. Ariel, however, did not, and she's going to try at every opportunity to show Dane just how much she doesn't want him around. In fact, she's going to challenge the Dom... by domming him!

Dane Reese doesn't know what to make of the blue-haired sprite in the kitchen of Valerian's Root. She's feisty, cantankerous and utterly irresistible. He will humor her as she tries to play Mistress with him, but one thing's for certain: by the time the month is up, there will be only one Master in their relationship, and that's him.

Although easily able to be read as a stand alone, Ariel's Pet is part of the An Invitation multi-author series. Dane is quite an interesting Master. Intense when he needs to be, good-natured and charming at other times, he really does place some serious flutters into a girl's heart. The way he looks out for his friend Logan's interests also is incredibly endearing. I couldn't, however, understand how in the world this seemingly intelligent man could like someone like Ariel.

Ariel and Dane have scorching chemistry, no doubt about it and of course, being a romance Ariel's Pet has that wonderful Happily Ever After. But for all of her feistiness, it often came across as bratty and petulant. Understandably, she didn't want her equilibrium upset by the month long absence of her sister and restaurant partner, but to continually take it out on a pretty innocent party borders on the obnoxious. All she needed was a couple of foot stamping episodes and screaming "You're not the boss of me!" to complete the scene.
