Continues the acclaimed account of Southern eccentrics that began in Night People, with a colorful collection of righteous New Orleans misfits--including televangelists, escaped convicts, vengeful feminists, and disgraced clergymen.

This review is from: Arise and Walk (Paperback)
Ahhh, Barry Gifford, a wild and imaginative author, and quite the novelist. This book is full of backwards humor, and sexual and violent fetishes. The book boasts fast characters, extreme ideas, and a wide array of names. Gifford intertwines several characters on a continuous chase, that leaves most dead due to some (i imagine) beautiful women feminist extremes, and hyperbolized bible verse quoting. A few characters from other books appear. And i am so satisfied to say another one of my favorite novels is by Barry Gifford.
